Is Disney The Place?

I am considering getting married at Walt Disney World in FL. I was planning a big wedding here in my home town, but it is turning out to be more than I want.

If anyone has any suggestions or have had their wedding there and have advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the boards! I've found everyone here very helpful and friendly. I saw on another thread you were interested in a small wedding. Do you want that small wedding at home? Or do you think the only way you'll be able to get your small wedding is if you have a destination wedding (i know that was the case with me. I wanted small, but there was no way I was going to get that if we planned an at home wedding.) Would Disney be you first choice for a destination wedding? Fill us in a little more and we'd be happy to make any suggestions. Depending on how small you're looking for an Escape wedding might be right up your alley. There have been some great threads on here that summerize what's included, so rather than recreate that, I reccommend doing a search. If you're having problems with that, let us know and we'll point you in the right direction.

It looks like it comes down to...do you want a big home-town wedding with all your family and friends...or do you want a small destination wedding. Weigh out the pros and cons for each one.

Also, keep in mind that you can always do a party at home afterwards with your family and friends. We're having an at-home reception that is going to be pretty informal (and will not cost very much) after our wedding at Disney. Plus, we're having a lot more people come to our wedding than we really thought would make the trip (originally planned for 40 and are now up to 65), so you never know what will happen once you start planning.
