Disney Junior is not listed for March...yet another attraction down? I've read that there may be troubles with the workers or that it's just making room for future Marvel stuff. Anybody know anything? My youngest will definitely miss this on our next trip....among the host of other attractions down.

They are supposedly retooling the show to have a more automated approach so it can be updated faster. It was unclear what exactly that means.

This site had an article on this. The current show with puppets will end April 8. Disney is quoted as saying they will retool the show so the can more quickly adapt to the programming changes that happen one Disney Jr. This I can understand because it would be great to have, say, The Lion Guard incorporated into the show.

I've noticed that a lit of show times aren't filled in yet - including the Frozen show. My guess is the times are being confirmed for some of the shows and will be posted later. I've read on here that sometimes the full entertainment listing isn't posted until 3 weeks out.

I was thinking that too. But I noticed they just put in Frozen Live up for March....but nothing on Disney Junior Live.

Just speculation, but maybe some of the Summer of Heroes stuff (Avengers Training Initiative?) will go in there, at least temporarily?

Although it is coincidental (as that article mentions), I think there is likely more than that to this decision. The show is basically the oldest show left in DCA. I really can’t think of any non ride entertainment type attraction that has been in DCA longer. They’ve updated the show a few times to change with new Disney Jr. shows, but it’s been there since shortly after DCA opened. It may be that Disney has kept the show because they didn’t see a need to put time and money into changing it, after all the core demographic is 1-5 year olds, so the audience is always changing as new tykes are born. The current characters in the show are outdated from what is currently popular and it needed another update. With the union battle it seems like a no-brainer for Disney to decide to ditch the show and take the update in a different direction. This is all part of show business. Not so nice to the CM, but it is how things work. The rumor is the new show will be screen based (boo) to allow for more easily aligning to what is popular on Disney Jr.

Screen based? That would be totally lame. I guess it's best that my youngest won't be in the Disney Junior demographic for much longer.

Still, with EVERYTHING that's down, it's really bad form for Disneyland to take this out. Totally awful and showing little care for the guest - is this the new norm for Disney?

It really isn't "new" the parks go through phases. I'll never forget being there on year 49. We only got to go to Disneyland because we didn't get park hoppers. I remember feeling like so much was down on our trip. My friends and I ended up riding matterhorn and pirates. I am pretty sure haunted mansion was down and know for a fact Space mountain was down. I just remember going up to so many rides and being told it was down for refurbishment ahead of the 50th anniversary. Great for everyone going the next year sucky for my school group. I went back years later and was like OMG there is so much to do here.
