Is Disney Bringing a 'Frozen' Attraction to EPCOT's Norway Pavilion?

I personally have a problem with a Frozen boat ride. C'mon, guys, you know what frozen means? Did we all see the movie?

good point :rotfl2:

though if they came up with a feature that the water "froze" halfway through or something, that would be kinda cool

Can I get a FP+ for the Frozen ride?

I'll get you one. You need to come to New England to experience it, and it is only open tomorrow. Testing, you know... ;)

Your welcome to come to Pittsburgh. We have about 5 months of a Frozen Attraction every year. We call it "reality". Minus the talking snowman. But after a few margaritas, anything's possible!

Ha! As someone who is sitting in Somerset, PA watching the snow dump down, this made me laugh. And then cry. ;)

Sorry, you've already used your headliner attraction FP+ on Test Track. Come back tomorrow (and the next day too if you want to ride Soarin').

We are on Long Island so we got a FP+ to your test for tomorrow.

BZZZZT. Text Message from WDWMDX: WE'RE SRY. NEW ENGLAND IS CLOSED DUE TO A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. WE HAVE CHANGED YOUR FP+ TO TIKI ROOM 9:05AM

The idea of having a frozen attraction sounds good, BUT . . . . not in place of the Maelstrom. There are only two rides in all of World Showcase, add something new, don't just refurb what is already there.

Not sure I understand why this HAS to go into Norway? Its a Disney based theme ride not a country specific one? I would think it would be a good start to a Disney country based theme park area.

Disney Country (small replica of the country area with smaller pond possibly?):
Frozen (Norway), Ratatouille or Beauty and the Beast (France), A Christmas Carol (UK), Atlantis, Mulan (China), Hercules (Greece), Aladin (Egypt / Saudia Arabia?)

Visit the Stave Church in Norway, see the museum exhibit on the making of Frozen, and you'll understand why it belongs there.

Frozen is specific to Norway. While there are fantasy elements, it's definitely set in that country, the same as Beauty and the Beast is definitely set in France and Mulan in China.

These aren't "Disney Countries". They're real countries, with the fairy tales set in them.

Just got back from seeing the movie. Thought it was a good one but agree with the PP about staying power. To me the songs are a critical factor in accomplishing that and I think these were just so so. A couple of good ones the rest meh.

I would be worried about what would happen with the lines if Frozen were to replace Maelstrom. The area isn't built for a true headliner. While its popularity may be temporary I think it would create quite a log jam.

Oh, how I would LOVE to see Maelstrom rethemed with Frozen. I also think it would be so cool to redo the Storybook Princess Breakfast to feature Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff. The castle could be like Elsa's ice castle. Oh, please, please!:worship:

I hope they don't get rid of Maelstrom. Even though it is an old ride I really like it and it is educational. EPCOT does need new attractions but leave Maelstrom alone. I have not seen the movie yet, but it seems like it would be better maybe to have a 3d motion ride like Star Tours if you will just be riding around in the snow. Then you could always remake it later on.

Please not another dark ride. Peter Pan is ok if you have really young children. But I was utterly disappointed by the Little Mermaid ride. It is my fav disney movie of all time and I think the ride was poorly done. You can see all the rods and stuff behind the characters. The Under The Sea scene was the worst.

We were amazed at how bad this ride is. Hopefully, new Disney rides won't be anything like this.

I don't get why anyone wants Norway turned into a Frozen attraction. The point of World Showcase is to feature countries, not fairy tales. A little of the princess bit is OK but why so much only in one country? Doesn't that seem to be a bit much?

Agreed.
So disappointed. Looks cheap.

I prefer the LM show at HS over the ride at MK.

I've been reading this complaint for some time now and don't quite understand its validity. LM may be a bit worse than others but go on any other Disney ride and look up instead of at the attraction and you'll see the same stuff. It's kind of difficult to have accent lights without hanging them somewhere. Look around on
PotC and you'll see all kinds of stuff that isn't part of the attraction.

While in the movie, I had the feeling Disney directed the movie the way they did to set up for a "show" attraction. It lends itself to a stage performance, and could really do well. ETWB is amazing, and they could do something along tat line for frozen. I would love it!
