Just wondering if Disney is booking rooms with the free dining plan in September yet. We want to book a package with dining plan for 2 nights with a 1 day magic you way ticket since we are buying AP's.

Disney has already offered free dining twice for 2007, to two separate target groups. Both promotions were considered to be very successful (which isn't necessary good news for folks hoping to get their own free dining offer). There is no indication, one way or another, whether there will be further offerings of free dining for 2007, nor whether any such offerings will be directed as specific target groups versus the general public.

If I remember rightly, when it has been offered to the general public there was a minimum stay of 3 nights, so that may be worth remembering as well (if it is offered).

Also, they are currently running the 40% room promotion which they did not have last year. I alot of people (my family included) already took full advantage of that promotion which means there will be more rooms filled already.

I was on the phone pricing out a trip for September today. The CM recommend we get the dining plan. I jokingly said "so the free dining will be offered again this September?" And she said "actually, no it will not this year.
Just passing it on.

Time will tell . . .

The cm's haven't been told anything for sure yet - so that CM is just guessing - but it is not looking likely at this point. They are booking rooms just fine between the UK free dining, bounce back free dining, and 40% pin code that's out. No need to entice more people to come... =(

We are waiting for the Sept. free dining to book our vacation. What is the pin code, 40% deal? How do I book usig it?

Thanks,

If the discount is available to you, you'll receive mail with a passcode you can use to book the deal.

I still think Disney needs to offer a promotion to the General Public to entice people to visit Disney during Huricane Season. If Disney offered the Free Water Parks, Fun & More option for spring bookings (when it's busier), they should offer SOME sort of promotion for the slow season of late August - September.

There are many of us that didn't receive an email PIN code or a postcard in the mail to get the 40% off, and not everyone took a trip at the end of 2006 so the Bounceback offer can be booked.

I am still keeping my fingers crossed that SOMETHING is announced by April 07. If it's not free dining, hopefully a discount on rooms or free water park option.... SOMETHING!!!!

If it continues to be a slow time, they'll offer something. As more and more people come back, they won't need to offer as much..... I have a sinking feeling that all of those reservations made in hopes of adding free dining later will book resorts up enough that the free dining doesn't get offered to anyone it hasn't already been offered to since the resorts don't look empty. I have my fingers crossed, though!!

I've not seen anything to suggest that the UK offer and the bounceback offer have been that successful. If they had been, I wonder about the 40% offer. The 40% offer is really quite surprising, IMO. It's good for a variety of times during '07. This makes me think Disney is predicting a slow year, what with home prices falling in much of the nation and people generally feeling like they have less money in their pockets.

Remember last year that the free dining offer was actually extended after not enough people, apparently, took advatage of it.

The 40% offer indicates to me that WDW may be a bit pessimistic about the outlook for '07. I also think that the 40% offer may be something of a lure to get people to book deluxe resorts (it worked for us -- we booked GF for a family trip in August and BWV for F&W Festival!). I think free dining tends to fill up the value resorts, since the deal is really quite phenomenal if you stay at a value and not so attractive if you stay at a deluxe. So, the marketing strategy may be to get some deluxe rooms booked up, then offer free dining to fill the values.

Just a guess. I don't pretend to understand the WDW marketing minds.

Guessing is all ANY of us can do! However, just knowing what others are thinking is sometimes very helpful! ;)

I talked to a CM yesterday and he suggested booking now and adding free dining when/if it comes out. He also said it was so successful the last two years he feels good about it or something of equal value being offered again. But, remember the CMs are just guessing too.

I think we are between a rock and a hard place.... book now and secure the room making the resorts appear full, or wait until the Sept. offers come out.

If we book now with the 40% off can we add the free dining later?

Maybe, maybe not. I'll guess not. 40% is very generous. I don't think they'll allow combining that with anything else.

No, you cannot combine the offer. Currently we have a reservation booked with the 40% promotion. When and if free dining comes out, I would have to change my reservation to that promotion if that one works out better. As an accountant, I already did the math and know that it would safe us an additional $150.
