Is Dino Gertie leaving Hollywood Studios?

Well it's still currently operating as a quick service location.

I certainly hope they get rid of it. I understand it has symbolism, but I always thought it was kind of stupid. Especially since it doesn't even do anything. If it were an animatronic or something to that effect I would probably be more fond of it.

It houses a quick service food location inside it can't be a animatronic. It's eyes glow and smoke comes out of its nose though.

I was looking at the official site and it has nothing about Dino Gertie on it. I wonder if Disney has something up it's sleeve. Perhaps they are finally going to get rid of Indy as well and use the land more wisely.

It's actually considered a cart not a QSR. Its ran by the outdoor vending department that handles lol the small (pretzel, popcorn and ice cream bar) carts around the park. There are no current rumors for Gertie to close in the department itself. Other than KRNR Rock Station it's the only place to get soft serve ice cream in the park anymore now that oasis canteen has changed menu.

Hey Howdy Hey, Peevys Polar Pipeline and KRNR Rock Station are also not listed on the link you've posted and they are all larger food carts at DHS.

This is because she's old and a bit on the big size isn't it- for-shame Disney, For-shame!!!

They are walkup carts, but Dino Gertie was actually listed under the quick service section of this site. So are many other walkups like Aloha Isle, Auntie Gravity, Block and Hans, Chesire Cafe, Dino Bites, Hollywood Scoops, Kabuki Cafe, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and Storybook Treats.

I just checked a few days ago because I like to plan out my snacks. It was there.

Even when MGM first opened, it seemed out of place to me. What did it have to do with movies? First time I saw it, I thought of the old Sinclair gas stations. Seems more out of place than the hat.

It's part of the old Hollywood theme

I agree the cartoon came out in 1914, Disney should have gone with something that was more relevant. Even back when DHS opened in 89 it was outdated and most people didn't know what it was from. The same goes for Min and Bills (1930), which is across the pond. Whose seen and remembers that movie that's still alive today?

They didn't make the Legendary Years at Pop Century for this reason. I like Monopoly and puzzle pieces, but eventually even Disney realized that Cars, Nemo, Mermaid and Lion King are much more marketable. Because most people have seen and even grown up with these modern day classics.

That part of DHS is old Hollywood though that's the whole point 1930s Hollywood makes sense in that area of DHS. It's all part of the theme.

I like Dino Gertie and Ice Cream, but I don't think it does make sense in this area. It's a short walk from 50's Prime time and Sci Fi, which are 50's based. I think the Studios should get rid of Dino and Min & Bills and become more land based like all the other parks.

Old Hollywood is the "land"

Old Hollywood is the "land"

No I disagree, If it's supposed to be just loosely themed as "Old Hollywood" then why do they have Star Tours in this section. That's not "Old Hollywood", it was made in the 70's, 80's and this century and takes place in a galaxy far away.

Star Wars isn't in the old Hollywood section. Sunset and Hollywood boulevard are old Hollywood. You have to remember this was built as a working film studio and they wanted that old Hollywood feel throughout the park. Everything in the park has to do with major motion pictures.
