Is Deluxe Plan worth it in this scenario?

Ok - If this is a stupid question then feel free to roast me but at least please answer the question as well.

Can I get the Deluxe Dining Plan for just one night?

As I stated in another thread arriving for 2 days, 1 night in Aug for a quick 15th Anniversary trip - adults only (staying DVC at BWV). Will be hitting Epcot for lunch, tour WS, dinner and Illuminations then EMH at MK. I was originally just going to go OOP for food but I'm thinking we could do lunch at Le Cellier (1TS), dinner at Bistro de Paris (2TS) and have 2 snacks in World Showcase for $90 + drinks and gratuity (each). Aren't lunch and dinner at those two places going to run about 90 bucks each OOP anyway so the snacks and mugs are basically freebies? I know its a lot of food, and I know its a lot of time not touring the park, but the point of this trip is to do things we don't normally get to when we have our 4 kids with us, not to ride Soarin' and TT 3 times each.

So am I looking at this right or did I miss something (besides the gluttony)?

I think you have figured this correctly. (And I love the thought of Le Cellier lunch and Bistro dinner!)

Someone with more DxDP experience than I will want to weigh in though. I think the key is to go through and price out what you would likely order OOP at both places and then compare that with your 1 night DxDP price.

Also, I'd make a semi-early lunch at Le Cellier or a late dinner at Bistro to give you space between all that food. :) It sounds like a great idea!

Yes you can. We're DVC members and we actually do this all the time (if we stay 1 night, we buy the deluxe plan).

You get an app, entree & dessert for each of your 3 meal credits. Unless you really want to go to Bistro, it might be more worth it to split up your credits and actually use 3 of them since the credits expire on day 2. (Say Le Cellier for lunch, Chefs de France for dinner, then another lunch on day 2.)

I find that paying $86/pp for the plan is totally worth it for 3 sit down meals which gives you all that food. Have fun!

For our family trips the standard DDP is worth it because we want to do a Character meal almost every day and still have kids in the 3-9 (ie. cheap) range. Once they outgrow that it looks like TiW will be the way to go. But for this situation Deluxe actually makes more sense than either the standard plan or TIW (since we don't already own it and this would be our only use of it).

Thanks for the info.

PS - While I haven't been to Bistro yet, I don't like Chefs at all. So I personally wouldn't replace your Bistro plans with Chefs! :) (Though I understand PP's point about 3 meals instead of 2.)
