Is "Cirque de Soleil" worth it?

Hi! My family and I are planning our 4th trip to WDW and we are looking for new things to do. Someone suggested "Cirque de Soleil". Any opinions? My son will be nearly 7 when we go. Is it something that a seven year old boy would enjoy or will he spend the show wishing he was at Disney Quest?

The BRAVO cable channel from time to time broadcasts past Cirque du Soleil performances. If you managed to catch one of those it would give you some idea what to expect.

I was not able to see them during our December trip (they were on vacation!), but the performances on BRAVO are VERY impressive, and I hope to see them next year. Though the prices are 5-10 times what you would pay for an ordinary circus, this is extraordinary, and more than just a circus. If it's any consolation, the Orlando prices are less than the prices for their shows in Las Vegas.

A 7-year old boy should be OK; tell him it's the best circus in the world (no lie), but no animals.

Yes, yes and yes....this is a fabulous show....a 7 year old should be quite enthralled by all the acts......It is expensive, but I have never seen a post or talked to any one who did not say it was worth every penny......enjoy...Ted

If money is no object, by all means go. If you mete out your vacation dollars like I do...
Let me say, it is an awesome circus, but not being a circus fan seeing it once was enough. It is not something I'd say is a must for everyone! You hafta like "amazing feats" alot.

I highly recommend Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba. Imagine something so spectacular that you cannot put it into words and that is what you will experience. This past August our family of 4 sat on the edge of our seats for almost 2 hours in amazment.

The show is non stop and has something for every appetite. You may be able to get discounted tickets for the kids. We paid 25.00 each for my two daughters...... it helped pay for all the goodies that we purchased after the show.......The DVD is a hit with everyone.......Everyone that sees it wants to experience the show first hand.

Go, have fun and be amazed.

Yes, we took our two sons a year ago. At the time they were 12 and 15. They loved it. I bought the tix and then told my husband. I knew he wouldn't go if I asked because of the price of the tix. He ended up liking it just as much as I did. In fact, I've heard him recommend it to various friends.

One word ....... GO !
This show is worth breaking the bank for - you'll walk out feeling that you've seen something special !

I have seen Cirque a number of times - although not the La Nouba show (I always seem too busy at WDW). They are fantastic shows but not a typical circus.

You will not see animal acts. You will see a number of contortionists, acrobats, strange clowns, trapeze artists and possibly high wire acts. The shows are set to original, haunting, loud music (fequently in french). The touring shows/Vegas shows are somewhat sensual/erotic although from what I've heard, that aspect has been stripped from the WDW show.

I also would recommend you trying to see one of the Cirque shows on Bravo/PBS/or on video - it will give you a better idea if this will be something your family will enjoy. My experience is that people either love the shows or hate them and it is a very expensive show.
