Is Cinderealla Royal Table Worth it ? Dining with 2 Boys

I can't decide if it is worth 2 dining credits for Cinderella's Royal Table. I have always wanted to dine in the castle, but not particularly crazy about princesses.

I have 2 boys ages 6 and 9 who aren't crazy for princess either. I took them to see Anna and Elsa last year and the looks on their faces was hysterical!

Should I just let this one go? Is it extra special and magical or just built up in my head? We are a little tight on credits as it is since I would like to go to Hoop de Do and the Candlelight Procession.

Thanks!

I'd let it go. I don't think the food is great, and the ambiance in the castle is just meh. I'd do it again when my daughter is older for the princesses, but with a boy, no thanks

In my experiences it hasn't been worth one. There are too many better character meals that do only count as one, especially for boys.

I would pass for hddr any day! The castle is nice but if your boys don't care I would cut it. U I had it so built up in by head and was disappointed.

What about BOG instead? We sat in Beast's room and my son loved it!!!
We will be doing it again on our upcoming trip.
We've done BOG for lunch and enjoyed it. I think they'd like to meet the Beast. Last year my son was picked to be Beast in the Enchanted Tales Attraction and was on a Beauty and the Beast kick for a while. Totally forgot about dinner. Thanks for the suggestion!

I wish they had more character dining geared towards boys.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I'm a 42 year old woman with 2 sons. Maybe its just time for me to let go of the dream of eating in the castle :)

I'd pass. It wasn't the magical experience we were hoping for! The food isn't great and it's so loud. It was kind of neat to be inside the castle but it was our least favorite meal, definitely not worth 2 credits. BOG dinner is a great suggestion! We loved our dinner there!

I feel ya! I'm a 38 year old with a 6 year old son. I dreamed of someday taking my daughter to BBB and dining in the castle lol.
Instead, I have an amazing adventurous little boy- and I'm loving every second!
I also wish they had more things geared towards boys, I have the same fear for our DCL cruise..which is the main reason I picked a Christmas themed cruise, because he loves all things Christmas so at least Santa will be there.
However - Star Wars is opened at HS!! So I know that will be a great day! Now if only they could work in the Avengers somewhere!

Oh, also..have you done breakfast at Ohana? Stitch is my son's favorite character, besides the SW ones..it's the main reason we stayed at Poly

I thought it was the worst food for a character meal especially since it was 2 credits. I think the food at some quick service places are better.

The food isn't very good and I wouldn't go back. However, if you've always wanted to eat in the castle, then maybe you should just go for it, that way you'll have the experience! I wouldn't call it magical or extra special, but it was neat to be inside the castle.

"Worth it" is so subjective. The first time we went, my girls were almost 3 and 7. Eating at Cinderella's castle and interacting with the princesses was absolutely magical for my family. So much so that when we went back to WDW when my youngest turned 6 (and was princess-crazy by then), it was a no brainer to go again and it was so amazing to be there on the morning of her birthday. So now we have an ADR for the morning of my older DD's 16th birthday. It's a surprise trip so I think it's a perfect place to start her birthday at and it has become a tradition of sorts for our family and that has "worth" to us. Granted, we've only ever had breakfast there which I've heard is better food-wise and price-wise as well. The food has always been good for us. Not amazing or best we've ever had but certainly not awful. But my story is not yours. So while absolutely "worth it" to me, I can't at all recommend that it would be to you based on what you said about not being very interested. My advice would to be to pick a character meal that would appeal to your son. The most raved about WDW food experiences of this nature tend to be, at least in part, tied to the memories people made at that particular location.

Honestly, in your situation I wouldn't bother. I took my son (6 at the time) because I really wanted to experience it and he agreed to basically "take one for the team", but he really does not care for princesses and made me promise to never make him do it again. :rotfl:The food was just okay and in my opinion not the draw at all. If you really want the experience then go for it, but if you can take it or leave, then I would leave it.

I'm one who always wanted to do it. On our first trip in 2003, we booked too last minute. Then I had a son and DH wasn't really excited about taking him to do it (in 2009 or 2011). Then we had b/g twins, and I got my chance.
The inside of the castle is pretty neat.
That's really where the great part ends.
We were 2 adults, 9 year old and 2 two year olds. This was breakfast. I had to convince the waiter to give us two mickey muffins instead of one so the 2 year olds would have something to eat. Our food was all fine, nothing amazing, and the portions were rather small for breakfast.
The princesses were fine, but it clearly bored my older DS (9)
Our server kind of dropped off food and ran. Not particularly helpful or friendly.
The place was so loud and crowded that we could not hear the wishing star part.

All in all, my kids and I are much more impressed eating at the local Medieval Times Castle LOL

I'm not saying don't do it for yourself. But it really is just a regular Disney meal, and not even the best character meal at that, IMHO

I would let it go... maybe we just had a bad experience but the food was terrible, the service was bad, and the princesses were very rushed- all this after waiting 40+ mins past our ADR. DD6 of course enjoyed being inside of the castle but DS4 had no interest in it at all... he was happy with the sword that he was given and then attempted to cut all of his food with it. I'd pick Akershus and 1900PF over CRT any day!

I just ate there 3 weeks ago. To be honest my food was really good and my experience was even better however, if the kiddos aren't into the princesses I would save the credits.

We took our two oldest granddaughters on their first trip. They were 7 and 9. Bought the Princess Dresses, tiaras, glass slippers, etc. Paid for the extremely overpriced horrible food. Definitely not worth it financially unless your child is a big, over-the-top Princess fan, BUT if you've always wanted to eat in the castle it might be worth what they charge for the I've-always-dreamed-about-this experience. Just be prepared for mediocre food and a lot of noise. . .

We have two boys and are planning a trip for when they are four and seven. I plan on trying to get reservations for CRT. Mostly for my mom and I, however, my boys I believe will enjoy it because it's the castle! Also they're big eaters, worse case they can just focus on their food. The breakfast menu is the only one that looks appealing to me.
