Is BWV worth $350 more total than OKW for a 6 night stay?

BWV owner for 21 years......you familiar with the term Location, Location, Location....that's all I'll say...
Our first DVC purchase was at BWV. There were 4 main reasons:
  1. Location (as you say).
  2. Theming (I love the 1920s-1940s theme).
  3. The Boardwalk itself (no other resort has its own built-in entertainment district).
  4. Standard View Rooms (seriously, these have got to be the best value in all of DVC).

Guys, I never would have dreamed getting more than a few replies. This has been such a WEALTH of information. Mostly what I have gotten from this thread is that BWV is the place to be!!

So, our guy with 19/pp doesn’t want to walk it, which I get. He’s willing to try for us day of. So maybe there will be a slim chance.I have found someone selling 100 points at 17/pp, so after crunching some numbers it is 98 points to stay Boardwalk View for the last 5 of our 7 nights and within our budget. I think we will probably go with that since the stress seems to be much lower there plus I feel like starting on a Monday is likely easier than a Saturday.

Now for anyone else who would like to chime in—now what to do for the first two nights!

My s/o has a side gig at our (safe!!!) local Disney store. We can get 50% off on Gran Destino, so that seems like a solid choice and we would do AK, MK, or water parks first so we save the EP/HS access for BW. We also will have our car.

Other contenders are two nights at OKW or SSR first. A little more expensive than 2 nights in the tower because it’s during THE most expensive points days all year and it’s a weekend.

what would you guys pick? Or something else entirely?

We love Coronado Springs. That's our go to hotel when we do cash stays unless there's a real notable discount at a deluxe resort (usually Animal Kingdom Lodge). Haven't been there since Gran Destino opened which I imagine is great.

I'd be comfortable at Coronado unless you get some great rate elsewhere.

I would suggest a preferred view at SSR over the standard view. They are closer to the walkway to Disney Springs and they are all recently refurbished. As far as I know, they are still working on the standard views.
The OP is planing a trip in April 2022, SSR refurbishment is almost complete. It should be done by early summer of 2021, for the rooms at least.

Boardwalk view is just as hard to get as standard due to fewer rooms in those categories. You should be able to get garden/pool view with no issue though--same cost as boardwalk view. You could put in your preference for boardwalk view with garden/pool as a backup option.

Sounds like a great idea to do a split stay with your s/o's discount! The Gran Destino Tower is supposed to be really nice!

It sounds like I'm in the super minority, but it would depend on what you like to do during your visit. I think OKW is a nice resort to relax and not be in a hurry to get to a park. I'm not a huge EPCOT fan though and I like to get to the parks early and usually leave by the time it starts to get crowded. Never stayed at either resort, but I would probably save a little cash and try OKW before BWV. Don't think you can go wrong with any of the resorts although I understand that a lot of people don't like the busses, but I usually travel in the off hours and non peak times of the year.

Do the Gran Destino Tower. It's beautiful! We had the best dinner at WDW at Toledo's on the top floor of the Tower. Food & service were very good and the views outstanding. Definitely try to have dinner up there or at least a drink. :)
