is BOG worth it right now? What about CRT?

Our family has done BOG probably 5 times- 1 time on each of our trips since it opened. 1 for dinner, the others for lunch. The food is good but we go for the setting. We also have always had the dining plan when we visited.

I grabbed a BOG ADR but wondering if I want to spend $300 for our family to eat there. Can anyone tell me how it is right now?

I also grabbed a CRT ADR. We have been fortunate to go to CRT for every trip for the last 14 years- again on DDP. We definitely do not go for the food but for the experience of the princesses in the castle. Since my DDs are older and princesses are not a part of the experience, do we want to spend $300 for CRT?

Thank you for the input!

Only you can really decide if it's "worth it" – but I will say this, no ambiance in the world is worth $300 for a meal to me.

Ambiance is great as always, the master frequently stalks about the castle, and the food was great. (I had the lamb, it wasn't on the menu, but they did have it.)
We go every trip. FWIW I have no problem paying the adult price for what we receive (3 courses, steak dinner), but I sure wouldn't feel that way if we had anyone in the 3-9 group paying 40 bucks for applesauce and mac & cheese.

The experience at BOG currently isn't that much different than it was pre-covid. Instead of a quick meet and greet with the Beast after dinner, he walks around the restaurant. To me the atmosphere makes it "worth it" and the food is pretty good too.

I just ate at CRT 2 weeks ago and my family really enjoyed it. With 2 teenage boys, they had never been interested in a princess character meal. So with the slightly cheaper price currently (since the princesses aren't meeting), we figured it was a good time to eat in the castle. We all loved our meal - food was actually really good, better than expected. Cinderella does make a quick appearance every 20-30 minutes or so.

So I guess "worth it" is really subjective. It won't be the most amazing food you've ever eaten, but IMO the atmosphere and decent food make each of them worth visiting at least once.

NO, not worth it if you have gone before. We had 11 people when they first changed the menu. Over $600 but we had DDP and but the tip was $140 ! We went in September 2020 and the beast did walk into the rooms but of course no pics at the end of the meal. It was the same price as before but there were only 4 of us.

The lunch is now the same price as dinner, and I really like their lunch and breakfast (especially on DDP and PPO)

Yeah miss the dining plan for some of this locations.

Others it's nice to see some discounted options.

Never been a huge diner BOG fan... it was OK but not as special as eating in a "real" castle. Of course the last time we did CRT, fireworks were going off in the background, so a little extra magic there.

We have done both, on the DP. BOG has become disappointing in the food options. And when we did CRT it was for breakfast and they rushed us out (you could feel the staff was rushing to get people out so more could come in). It was not worth the 2 table service credits needed at the time. I would not pay out of pocket for either of those items. But I do understand having tradition and certain things that you just do on a Disney vacation. Up until last year we had always had Crystal Palace for breakfast on our first day, it was sad to not have the option at all because it wasn't open and now it is only open for lunch and dinner options (those offerings are not to our liking) and again it won't be a piece of our vacation. But we have found other places due to the offerings being different, so that has been fun. It comes down to you and what you want to do, if you want other people's opinions then no its not worth it.

We went to both CRT & BOG this week. The food at both exceeded our expectations. We had the fillet at both & found them both delicious. I had the lobster bisque which was the soup at CRT & that was just “eh”. But the steak was very good. DH had the salad which he thought was very good. Frankly, the price wasn’t that bad for 3 courses considering we also had the rib eye & fillet at Le Cellier, which cost $57 & $59 respectively, for just the entree.

Yes, we ate a lot of steak. My DH pretty much only eats beef.

We thought it was worth it. The food was delicious, the ambience is as lovely as always (we much preferred having the Beast stroll through his castle rather than having to line up to meet him), and it was so nice to get out of the sun for a while and cool down and rest with someone bringing us unlimited cold drinks. We had my very young nieces with us this last trip, and I think this break really made a difference in the second half of our day. I probably wouldn't take my teens if it were just us; they've seen it enough times and would rather have a quick meal and get back to the attractions.

I haven't been to CRT lately and doubt I will until the princesses are back, and then we'll probably want to take my young nieces there. I'm glad we chose BOG for this trip; it was the most unchanged experience.

I did not feel that we spent too much on this experience, but it's definitely a subjective interpretation.

For me, the only reason I've booked dinner here again after my last trip (when it was so-so) is because it's the latest restaurant open in the park. I LOVE being able to leave post-close when few folks are there. So despite the cost, the timing is more than worth it for me.
