DH and I would love to go but not sure about taking the kids. I just checked on tickets and they are only $29 for kids! I don't want to pay $80 for the kids to go but $29 is great! So.....thinking we may take them. They will be 7 and 9.

Our other choice was La Nouba. We have seen a number of Cirque shows, including La Nouba and not sure my kids will appreciate it. Kids tix and slightly cheaper than adult tix so overall La Nouba would cost almost twice as much.

Kids that age should love it! It a VERY high engery show with lots of sounds and colors. They even had a part of the show were they had three kids come up to the stage. I don't know of that part was replaced or not during the recent rehab though.

It does feature some "adult" humor, but it is masked just like any good animated kids movie where it flys over kids heads and parents will be laughing. The only part that is not 100% kid friendly is the end when they tell everybody to stand up and shake your butt and then they go into about a 3-4 minute insane (where talking crazy lights, GIANT coloring changing beach balls released into the crowd, toilet paper, everything that Blue Man is known for and what makes them great) segment where the song that is playing is basically tons of insane things you can call your butt...leaving off some like the one that starts with A.

Here is a clip from the ending of the show that shows you what the ending is like. Be warned, it is the full ending of the show so it will spoil it for you. I suggest not watching it with the kids so they will be totally surprised at all the stuff that is happening around them. (I am not sure if Youtube videos can be posted here, if not, please remove it, thanks)

With La Nouba being twice as much, I really would stick with Blue Man. While it is not as big of production as La Nouba, it is still well worth the money. Last summer was our first time ever seeing the Blue Man Group and we only did it because of the cheap tickets I was able to get being a college student. When the show was over we all agreed that 1) Why had we not gone to this show sooner? 2) Even without discounted tickets, we would go see them again in a heartbeat and 3) When can we see them again? We still had 3 days left at Universal after we saw them and we almost went again on the last night because of how much fun we had.

My son was 6 for his first show, now 9. He loves it and now have been 3 times. We are planning the fourth this summer with the new revamped show.:thumbsup2

Badge, thanks for listing that.

i have seen bmg the past two years on orlando.
really did enjoy it for the most part.

i was looking forward to seeing it again this year since the ending has changed.

now that i have seen that clip, i know i won't be going to it this year.

the balls/balloons with everyone standing up the last 7 minutes or so of that show isn't interesting to me.

pushing the balls up and to others reminds me of college beach party days.

i loved the ending they used to have.
too bad it is now long gone.

to the op, it is stated to be a family show.
the two times i have been to it in the past, i did see many families with children with them.
some as young as 5 or so and they seemed to enjoy the music and entertainment, such as a blue man catching an object in his mouth.

last time i went, the bmg would stay in the lobby after the show for pictures for their fans.

Our grandson saw the show when he was ten. To this day that's all he talks about from the entire Universal trip, which included a side trip to the Motherland. He luuuuuuved BMG!

Your welcome Macraven, and I agree, the new ending does not seem to be as good as the whole ending. Some reviews of the new show I have been reading mention the same thing about the ending as well.

However, other areas of the show have been improved from what I have read and watched on Youtube. I really love the new GiPads and what they do with them.

I hope that the ending will change after a little while...after all the new version has not been open for even a month yet! If they were to bring back more TP that covers everybody like the old show, that would help a little bit. Sure they still have some TP, but it is only launched out of these big "air guns" that the Blue Men use so not everybody gets some and nobody is covered in it.

For those of you that have never been to Blue Man Group, don't let our talk of a "sub-par" ending to the show turn you away from seeing them. The show really is an amazing experience that everybody needs to experience at least once in their lifetime.

We went to BMG once. The lady behind us had too many shooters and was obnoxious during most of the show and even had a good long cry. Wish her date would have done the right thing and removed her.

I don't understand why people would want to get drunk before seeing the show. She spent all that money to see them and then ruined it for herself and everybody around her. Sorry to hear about that Damo :sad2:

While the subject of Blue Man Group is being discussed, I would like to mention that Blue Man Group offers special discount tickets for college students! With a valid college ID, you can purchase 2 tickets for $34 plus tax each! The only downside to this is, they are "day of show" tickets only meaning you can't get this special ahead of time. You need to show up at the theater (with a credit card! They will NOT take a hotel room key charge for those that stay onsite) early on the day you want to see the show and hope they have tickets left. If you are part of a larger group, they will allow everybody to sit together (if they have room of course) with the college tickets. It is a really great deal for students!

I have also heard of a special they have for teachers, but it is not listed on their website like the student tickets are. You would have to search around on google to see if you can find anything about it.
