We are a couple in our 40's - no kids - and we only get to visit Orlando every 8 years or so. We don't have the budget to stay on site for our trip in May 2022. We do however have Best Western points and stay at Best Western Plus a lot when visiting family. This hotel does have a resort fee that we are aware of. We will not be renting a car so parking charges are not a concern for us. Has anyone stayed here before and what do you think are the pros & cons of this hotel? I know they are currently building another tower beside this one and that is very exciting to see. I also know the current perks of the access to extra magic hours & 60 fast pass might not be renewed in 2022. Another question - is early planning an illness? - because I might be suffering from it hahaha OK that one was hypothetical.

You probably want to ask a mod to move this over to the Orlando resorts thread as you are asking about a non Disney resort.

That is super interesting and I did not think of that. This is technically a good neighbour hotel with Disney so I am not sure which category it goes in...

It gets Disney hotel benefits but is not owned by Disney so is usually discussed on the other thread.

I'll respond even if we're in the wrong spot. I'm a rebel like that! We stayed last November. It was clean, a nice walk to Disney Springs, and the service was excellent. There was only one day we were bothered by construction starting earlier in the morning and we did have issues with water not getting warm in the shower in our room. Despite that, we have another stay booked for April.

They are not a Good neighbor hotel. The good neighbor hotels only have "approved standards" and do not get 60 day FP+ or EMH benefits. Make sure if that is important to you that you do not book a Good Neighbor.

The Disney Springs hotels along Hotel Plaza Blvd are part of and called Official Walt Disney World Hotels. Those are the ones that get the extra perks.

The Best Western (now owned by Drury Hotels) has not been renovated in a very long time, and won't be until after the new tower is built. There is active construction going on now, and will be for a long time to come. By May 2022 it is possible that the new tower will be done and that could be an option for you. At some point the pool deck will be rebuilt as it's part of the new tower plan in phase 1. And then some convention space will be built along with renovating the old building for phase 2.

You will need to get a taxi/ride share to the hotel, there is no transportation from the airport. But once there you have the Disney Springs Shuttle bus to parks which is good. You are easy walking distance to Disney Springs or you can take the bus.
