This past year (June 05), we bought AP's with the DVC discount.
Now, was it worth it? YES, we used 15 days on our AP's as we went to WDW
June 05, Nov 05, April 06. We just bought our new AP's at WDW (at DD) for $308 and used 5 days in June 06. If you live only 8 hrs like we do from WDW, it is worth it to us.

YMMV....

I'm not sure how many days we will end up with out of our AP's this year. We have done the 10day hopper non-expiring too. It is just so nice to be able to wander into a park and ride 2 or 3 rides and then wander out, not feeling that you just burned one of your precious hopper days. I love being able to come and go a little everyday, instead of doing a couple of commando days during our 8 day trips. We'll probably do hoppers again in the future some, but I love the AP's (especially with the discount). We like you only live 8 hours away. Sometimes it is more than I can bare thinking about my passes laying here and not being used! ;) When hurricane season picks up, we may just have to evacuate to WDW! :teeth:

They have worked for us too. The DDE has been good for us, since we do tend to invite people to come with us and the discount on dining is always welcomed.

What has been a disappointment has been the AP's room discount, which we've only been able to use once at POP. Either they changed the way it worked, or it never was as great as it seemed to be described. It seems that All Star resorts were on Priceline for dates this month, but the good rates were not given to AP holders. Well, we went off site for the night. However, we're renewing our passes this August.

We live 10 hours away and even make 3 day trips (driving) I know its hard sometime I drive 5 hr wife 5hr but anyway we feel the Ap is well worth like the DTD discount etc. :cool1:

My AP has expired and with only a 3-day weekend in October and 5 days in January planned at WDW, I'm doing the 10 day non-expiring tickets for the first time. I hate it! But we are interested in Hilton Head for our April vacation, and it just doesn't make sense right now. OK Breathe! You can live without a current AP!

Too bad you guys live so far away. :woohoo: We only live 3 hours away + the 1/2 hour drive from the airport :rotfl2: so we make 4 - 6 trips down each year. I agree - it's great to be able to just wander around and maybe ride Soarin' once or twice. Although, Sunday June 11th I did ride Splash Mtn. 6 times in a row during EMH! :yay:

I was wondering about this too. I live in Rhode Island. I am coming down 3 times from now until next September. My husband is coming down twice. I definitely am getting an AP for me. I am undecided about getting him the AP or the 10 day no expiration date. Honestly, most of our park visits are to go to eat. I am leaning toward the 10 day for him. When we come for the first time in Sept. the only park we are eating in is in Epcot. Any suggestions???? It's too bad someone couldn't think of a way of getting into a park with out having to pay admission just for the sake of dining....... :confused3

We start our whirlwind PAP tour in 4 days I can't wait.

We are already booked for 5 day in DEC .Hoping on a good school calender to hit OCT and April for a few day at a Value then of Summer Week next June .We then will skip and do Just one trip in the fall or winter ( MNSSHP/ MVMCP and US /IOA/SW ) Then start over the next year with 4 trips again.

We get plenty of use out of our AP's. A week at Easter, 10 days this summer and another week over President's week. So cool!

I agree that AP's are worth it! I'll have 57 days of usage on my current AP. :teeth:

If I have points available and SW comes out with great fares--why not go to WDW? I have my trusty AP and my DDE card! :cloud9:

WOW!!! Good for you!

We usually get about 28 days on our APs and we have to come all the way from Minnesota. We usually use an AP for 12 months, and then take 12 off and get a new one. That means we only buy a pass everyother year, but go to WDW every year by just juggling the dates a little. Now we have decided we like going to baseball spring training too, so we'll likely renew passes instead of waiting a year.

We bought an AP last year, and stayed 15 days the last two weeks in July.

We're going down for 19 days this year -- including the first two weeks of July :thumbsup2 The APs will expire two days before we leave, but we figure we will just chill out (or maybe visit Sea World?) those days...

I too like the "non commando" way of doing WDW parks. Want to ride Test Track and Mission space and then leave?-YES, and avoid the pain of trying to do everything in one day!!

The AP's are worth it to us! Glad all who have responded enjoy their usage and it's nice to "relax" at the parks!

I'm with you! I think the passes give us so much freedom to 'do one thing' and just leave.

Wow-this is such a great point! :thumbsup2 I've been going back and forth on whether or not to buy the AP, but you're right! We're planning to go again in October and next February (two short trips), so it makes even more sense to buy. Last year, DD and I were feeling a little under the weather, and only made it to MGM for dinner. We spent the rest of the day chilling out by the pool. I felt kind of weird not 'using' the day.

Hey, ro80-where in RI are you?

We had AP's a year ago (?) and plan to get them again when we are there in Nov. I'm planning on returning in Oct 07 so DH can attend/work at the Funai Golf Classic. We should get enough days on them to make it work for us. Who knows, we may sneak another visit in also. DH doesn't spend as much time in the park as I do, so the AP's work. Like others have said, if we only go for a few hours I don't think we wasted a day.

It has been so long since I haven't had an AP that I'd really have adjusting to do with planning.

It was great in January when DH was doing the marathon. I was able to get off the bus from GF and see him at Y&BC with others on the bus but then I was able to go into Epcot to meet him at the end. The other people on the bus could not do it since they didn't have AP and had hopper tickets. Going into Epcot would have cost them a day. It really worked for me that day!

APs just give you so much freedom!
