Is anything like towels, soap, etc. provided in the bath houses? I realize that most campgrounds do not, but this is Disney.......
Thanks
PS- What about towels @ the pools

I was told nothing for the bathhouse. no sure about the pools

Nothing is provided in the comfort stations that you would not find in a public restroom. Nothing at the pools either -- it's strictly BYOT (bring your own towel).

There is hand soap and the rough paper towels at the sinks, but nothing in the showers. They experimented with soap dispensers in the showers a couple of years ago, but discontinued them.

I bring my own shampoo and towel and on my way into the shower I squirt some soap from the sink into my poofy scrubby.

Along this line, can anyone tell me if the showers are free or run on quarters? It's been years since we lasted camped there and while I remember the comfort stations well, I'm drawing a complete blank as to the showers!

TIA!

Showers are free. Save your quarters for the washers and dryers.

Quarters? No, you have to swipe your credit card. It's something like $5 per minute. It is WDW you know....

JUST KIDDING...I couldn't resist. The showers are free.

You know, some of the soda machines at the resorts are starting to take credit cards, I wish the washers and dryers would!!

At my son's college they have it fixed where he can put money on his student ID and run the washers and dryers with that, so no fooling with change!

One thing, if you need to go to the comfort station or laundry late at night, bring your resort ID because the doors lock from midnite to 6am. Nothing like having to run all the way back to your site when you realize you don't have your ID!!!

I'm planning on packing 2 shower buckets or baskets like we had in college, one for me & 2 year old DD and the other for DH and 5 year old DS.

That ID thing is going to be annoying. I wonder if I can add 2 kids to my site so that I have 2 extra ids - one for each shower bucket. And then they could get EMH for free, lol.

:rotfl: That's a good one! Sadly, it would not surprise me in the least if I actually came upon such a thing....It IS WDW!!

Even though we have a shower in the camper, the kids still love going to the bathhouse. I have found that the new very large zip lock baggies are wonderful! We put their shampoo, soap and cloths in a smaller one and the bigger one will hold that, plus their clothes and towel. I tried the basket thing, but the kids were getting everything in the baskets wet.

I wasn't sure what you meant by this ... how many people are you having on your site that you can't get them all properly registered? When you check in, EVERY member of your party gets an ID card. Now that my kids are over 18, I still register them as additional adults ... the cost is only $3 per night additional after 2 adults.

As far as the cards for use at the comfort stations ... we just leave a couple of cards by the door or our camper to grab in the night if anyone has to visit the bathroom. It doesn't matter whose name appears on the card, it will work on the door. The doors are locked from 12:00-6:00 for the protection of the resort guests - but I still see some people leave the doors ajar when they depart!!!

Anyone know if they still do the cleaning in the middle of the night? When we stayed in '96, I was 2 months pregnant so always had to get up and schlep to the bath house in the middle of the night.... I remember one night getting all the way there (we weren't exactly right next to it) and the ladies room was being cleaned and I mean there was soapy water ALL over the floors! :scared:

I think Gillian was saying she would get 2 extra ID's just to keep with her shower stuff. The thing about them (the shower buckets) getting into EMH was a joke. :teeth:

VAN, I did just mean that I could get extra ids to keep with the bathroom stuff. There are only 4 of us, so theoretically we could get more ids.

I tend to be a little forgetful, so on vacation I like to stay super organized. I'm afraid that if I am moving the ids from our park stuff to our bath stuff (or even just leave them by the door) that I'll forget them in the morning. I want our 4 ids to stay together with my fanny pack.

Mrsgus, I have to look and see what we have at home already. I was thinking of those plastic totes with holes in them, thinking that they will get wet. My kids are so little, I'm sure they'll make a mess.

I am going to pick up some of those giant zip locs anyway!

I add a kid to my reservation to get an extra ID for the bath house. I keep it in a side pocket of my shower backpack.

Really? That would be perfect! Our problem is that we have a package, so it would have to be an extra baby. And one at least 9 months + 6 weeks younger than my 2 year old. ;)

Not really, I added a cast members child as a guest because she spent a lot of time with my girls, that way she could also stay for EMH!
