Are you angry about the loud music put over the speaker system of about every public place in America?

There is now loud rock, or HIP HOP music, in: grocery stores, shopping centers, eating establishments, hotel lobbies, on the sidewalk in front of businesses, in parks and even in public buildings. It seems like everywehere I go the music is getting louder and more offensive. It use to be there would be quiet instrumental type music in elevators, now the music is LOUD and everywhere.

Is anyone else bothered by this? Is it really getting louder every year or am I just getting older?

I get tired of the car that goes by my house at around 10:30 to 11:00 at night and all I hear is thump thump thump - and that is with a fan going and the tv on!!!! (sometimes I am and sometimes I'm not asleep when the car goes by)

I get annoyed when they blare country music in restaurants, but that's because I don't like country music.;)

The only time loud music in public really bothers me is if I have a headache, then it just makes the music more amplified.

I positively HATE going into places like Best Buy or Circuit City. No so much because of the tvs, but when they have that surround sound system on full blast, I want to go up to the stupid thing and unplug it!! Our local Sams Club has one on display. All the kids (not mine!) run up to it and push the button to turn it on. I normally follow behind them and turn it off! :bounce:

I haven’t noticed the loud music except in places like Best Buy, etc. But what annoys the snoots out of me are the drivers that have their music turned up so loud that with them just driving by my house they make the windows vibrate. I often sit in the traffic and find myself next to one of these folks, I tried to closing the windows turning on the fan and turning up the radio but sometimes there is just no escaping it. Oooooohhh one of these days I will just have to put some huge speakers in my car and when a car tries to blare their music loudly I will just turn up my radio playing “It’s a small world” even louder. :teeth:

I think stores like Abercrombie and Fitch do this on purpous so that when you ask them a question, or ask for help, they can walk away from you and feel confident that they really didn't hear you over the music.

I noticed DisneyWorld was especially loud this trip. I wasn't the only one who noticed it either. Announcements, music, etc. were really LOUD!

It's bad when the music is so loud...but it's worse when you walk into a store where only teenagers work and they have loud, profanity-filled music. Even if it's a store I love, I will walk right out. I prefer to go when they're in school and the older employees are in, for this reason.
Also-another one here who can't stand when people have such loud systems in their cars, you can hear them down the street. It's terrible when they drive past thumping late at night-they have no respect. And as if to make it worse-they put these super loud exhausts on their Hondas (which are not meant to be loud, as they are NOT muscle cars!) so it sounds like there is a giant bumble bee thumping down the road!!! (Or a giant thumping lawnmower, depending on the car)

Wow, you guys are becomming old, fuddy-duddies!;)

I don't like elevator muzak. That slow rhythmic, hypnotic boring stuff. I feel like it's management's plot to brain wash me, or something.;)

I love music...and typically any kind of music...but I HATE it when I'm in a restaurant and can't hear what others are saying b/c the music is so loud. On top of that...the music is loud so other people have to raise his/her voice...making it even louder in the place....my poor ears can't take it.
We were in Chili's on Saturday and I asked the waitress to turn it down..thankfully she did :) :)

The music in Best Buy is mildly annoying, but when the overhead page comes on, I go through the roof.

I actually had to ask them to turn the music down in Taco Bell. DD and I couldn't talk to each other.

Especially when you pull up to several cars @ the gas pump, you are hearing 3 or 4 different songs, Hey at least put them on the same station!!!!!!!!!!!God, what a nitemare, lol:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: disneykid

YES!!! I walked through the Jr. dept in a store the other day and thought, "I'm so glad I don't have to shop for a daughter's clothing. I would be CRAZY! " The music was sooo loud that it was obnoxious.

I haven't really run into it in businesses. What I hate is when I hear it outside. The worst is having people in a campsite next door blaring music.
