Is anyone sort of sad IASW is not going to be open?

I'm very sad that it won't be open during our trip! But what can I do? My girls were looking forward to it, but since they have never been before, they won't really know what they're missing.

I'll too miss it! It's like a tradition in my family. When we go I ALWAYS take a picture of the little Tai small world dolls..I have about a hundred of those pictures :) Sounds silly, but it's just a "thing" I do when we go to Disney. :teeth:

Guess I'm the wet blamket here. We went on in once about 14 years ago and once was enough.

Yes, I'll miss it! I really wanted to compare it to the DL ride (I love the outside of the DL version, MUCH nicer than MK) while the DL ride is still fresh in my memory from my Feb. '04 DL trip. Not that rides in one park are better than the other, I just like to note differances (I'm weird that way!).

I'm glad it's getting a rehab, and the only way to do that is by closing the ride down, of course. But it still won't be open when I go in December, so I cant' drag...er...take BF on it for his first WDW visit. I guess we'll just have to come back again later...;)

And on a side note, I must be the only person in the world that not only LIKES the song, but I don't MIND it getting stuck in my head! My Mickey watch even plays the song when you press a button!

It's a classic ride that I fondly remember from my childhood. DH and I are going in September and I will definitely be sad we can't go on it...especially because if I remember correctly, I think it was temporarily shut down on our last trip there during our honeymoon in 1997. I haven't been on it in sooooo long!!

Ssssssh.....

Secretly I am sad. DBF is too, but he would never admit such a thing in public.

:)

I love to eat at Pinnichio's and get a "window" table to watch the boarding and unboarding. When I first found out it was going to closed during the trip next week, my DH looked at me in horror and said "you're gonna STARVE!"

I don't hate this ride, and if there is no line I will go on it, but the whole time I'm on it I always find myself thinking that I can be having fun somewhere else in WDW...I'm very sad it is closed though, because it will only make Fantasyland more congested!!!! I love to see a 60 min. wait for this ride because it means that those people waiting aren't making other lines longer! Now if POTC, HM, Peter Pan, Snow White or Winnie the Pooh were closed I might have to reschedule my trip rather than deal with 3yo DS!

This is the first I have heard about this :( MY kids love that ride and so do I. We are going Dec 2004 when is it due to reopen?

I think I read on the park rehab schedule that it will be closed for nearly a year and not reopen until March, 2005. It was supposed to have closed in May, 2004.

I am VERY sad that it is closed. This is one of my favorites - I guess mentally I am back at the World's Fair with my Mom and Dad when I am on it.

A year and a half ago I took my then 3 1/2 niece on it - we went around and around, must have ridden it four times in a row. It was a delight. Now we are going with 3 and 4 year old nephews for their first visit - and everyone is sad that they won't have the pleasure of IASW at this tender age. What a shame.

Sure, it's not for everyone, but there is so much to appreciate - and I love the song, too.

Well, it will be one less must-see attraction for us in Fantasyland, but I am a little sad about it. Now where am I going to nurse the baby?! :p Also, my kids are all still at the age to love it, and who knows how long that will last. Hopefully for one more trip beyond this one.

Feeling more disappointed, since our youngest niece has never been to WDW before, I guess it means that we'll have to try and take her back again in a couple of years!::yes::

We were planning a trip for the last week of value season in Feb. 2005. What do you suppose the chances are of IASW being open by then since they started a month earlier than originally planned?

When would the next best time be to go with very minimal waits for everything? Anything in March, April, or May considered lower crowds? Just hoping...

I'm sad it'll be closed. We ride it everytime we're there. I'm a patient girl - I don't mind the song at all!

I hope they don't change it too much. I like the retro feel it has.
