Is anyone else super unimpressed with Christmas "deals" this year?

I've gotten a few decent deals but really only a few.

When I check Amazon for and I'm offered fleece pants *for dogs* and bathroom tile (seriously) I have to wonder, what are people buying for Christmas and where?

I've gotten the iTunes card deal from Costco. A few items from Target and will run by to get gift cards at 10% off on the weekend. But really? This sale season is sucking for me.

We have gotten some good deals for things that we wanted. But generally we don't get much because there just isn't much that we need or want.

My brother, on the other hand, bought a ton. He got a new TV, an Xbox, wireless headphones, etc. He wanted a lot of things and got amazing deals on it all.

Maybe you are in the same boat and just don't want what the deals are for?

I was waiting for a really good deal on a solid state hard drive for my laptop. Nothing major.

I did see some good deals on TVs, but we don't need one right now.

My husband wanted one big thing. A pair of wireless, noise cancelling Bose headphones. I don't think they went on sale anywhere.

I was very disappointed. Usually I find some good deals for around the house and I didn't find those either. I feel like some places even raised prices to discount them. I didn't find anything much cheaper than it had been other times I looked for the same items.

Amazon had 1TB Samsung EVO (very good drive) for $250 yesterday. Pretty insane price.

As far as Black Friday deals, the best ones I saw came in as early access deals before Thanksgiving for my Best Buy Elite membership.

I used to love Amazon "lightning deal" season, but they have so much imported* junk now and I think they just randomly select a bunch of it for the deals.

I did get a great deal on an Instant Pot yesterday.

(*not making a political statement here, it's just hard to find good products when there are knockoffs of knockoffs and many of them have fake reviews.)

I did a lot less shopping on Amazon and a lot more elsewhere (used to spend 90% of my money there)...there were good deals, especially on clothes and certain toys/games/video games/books at brick and mortar stores (and alcohol/restaurant gift cards). I did note DVD/Blu Rays were not AS impressive, so I bought fewer (at $2, I buy everything new - at $5-10, I get selective:)...

I think it really depended on what you were looking for. If you wanted electronics, there were deals to be had--I have no idea how good they were, as this didn't interest me. But, if you were looking for a computer, TV, tablet--you could find stuff.

Overall, though, I was underwhelmed. But, I figure, I'll keep looking, better deal may yet surface.

I am also not impressed with any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals. I expected bigger discounts and more free shipping. I recently moved into a much larger house and in need of many things, large and small, so I've been watching prices. In one case, I've been watching a pair of earring for some time now, wanting them for a while but not a priority right now and was hoping there would be a great sale. They actually raised the price to discount.

I think Target is rocking it this year. I have not paid full price for any toy or kitchen items. They had their Fitbits on sale then had 15% everthing so I scored a Charge HR 2 for $112 after taxes and discounts. I scored great at Bed Bath and Beyond as well. Amazon put stuff that Walmart/Target had for Black Friday on sale Wednesday so I did well there too. As PP mentioned it just depends on what you're looking for.

I saved up about $120 in rewards with Best Buy and bought my DH some then received $10 more in rewards for those. I keep looking for sales on them because I'd like a pair as well but it seems only the older models are on sale.

I did feel like there were not as many bargains, did not see as many on video games(3DS) for DD, and Target clothes were only 30%, which they had been 40% previous yrs. Did still find good deals at Dick's on Black Fri., and got a soccer jersey online pre-Black Fri. for a good price for DS(plus ebates!)

Target actually had 30% plus an online cartwheel for 15% for the clothes...got my kid snow pants cheap...

The same items are on sale every year...electronics (TVs, game consoles, Beats headphones, computers), kitchen appliances, tools, etc.
Rarely do I see things on sale that I actually need or want, but this year I've seen quite a bit on "my list" but we don't have the budget to get anything big because we built a new house this year and have had to spend $$$$ on landscaping, I had toe surgery, and even had an emergency room visit! lol
I did save $10 on cookbooks, we utilized the Target Christmas light sale and bought $100 of lights for $50, and I bought 3 puzzles (my husband and I do them together between Thanksgiving and Christmas). That will be all we buy for ourselves which is just fine!

Target has 15% off on IPads. I thought that was very good since I don't ever remember seeing that large of a discount. Using your target card provided another 5% off.

I haven't seen any good sales at all. I did buy some towels on black friday. And a movie. I also got my mother a purse. But mostly I used the percent off sales for toiletries and other household necessities. Nothing major though.

In 2014 I got a Cartwheel for %15 off iPads + an iTunes card (can't remember now exactly how much it was, $25 or $50). Best Buy had iPads on sale for $50 off. I went into Target and asked if they'd price match it and they did. I ended up getting a brand new iPad Air + iTunes card for like $200 off. The manager actually said "WOW" out loud and high fived me, lol. That was probably one of my best stacks ever.
