Is anyone else disappointed in the release of the Disney Store Park Pack - May 2015 Edition?

I was really looking forward to purchasing this box this morning, but of course I get online and it had sold out within minutes of its posting. It's now up on eBay for upwards of $150 for the originally $40 box!! I know it had said "limited edition" and I totally get that that stuff goes quickly - but I was hoping that I would somehow still get one! I'm an avid pin collector and trader at the parks and I love these mystery type boxes. I emailed they Disney Store to tell them about my frustration and disappointment and only received a typical copy/paste of response.

Such a let down. I can't possibly justify sitting around every third Thursday of the month hoping that the box releases online when I'm actually checking. I really hope they change their method and provide more boxes to the public.

But who knows? Maybe I lucked out and saved $39.95 plus tax... I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I am curious, but when did you check for them? I checked around 8:00 am pacific time and they had sold out by then.

dis store posts new pins approx 12/1230 am pacific time, 3/330 am eastern. its been that way for years so nothing surprising with todays release.. i think they sold out by 630/7 today est so really not super fast compared to prev releases..

I had read that the new merchandise is loaded into the system around midnight Pacific Time, so I checked around 12:05 am pacific, but it hadn't been loaded yet. Good to know for future releases. I know they still had them in stock around 2:45 am Pacific Time, so they lasted at least that long.

I kept waking up and checking. I checked at 2am est, and it wasn't loaded yet. I checked again at 3:48am est, and it was sold out. I was so mad that I kept getting up, and it was all for nothing. Just to see I checked again around 6:30est, and they appeared to be back in stock. I hope it wasn't a glitch. I'm thinking maybe they had so many orders at one time when it was originally loaded that the system couldn't keep up, and once the frenzy stopped it was able to get an accurate count that showed some left. When I checked again around 7:45est it was sold out again.

I'll admit I wasn't super on the ball with checking but I've never tired for any limited edition releases online and I had asked a CM about when to expect that kind of item. I checked at about 7:30 AM central time so it's not really shocking that they were gone by then if they had been up for hours already... I was just really hoping that they still would have been available. I'm not able to wake up constantly in the middle of the night during the week to hopefully get an item. :/ Maybe next time.

Yes, work was definitely not pleasant Thursday morning after having gotten up so many times. Lol. Bright side? There's a chance every month to get a new box. I hope you have better luck next month!
