Is anyone else as sick of weddings as I am?!

I was just wondering if the rest of you have had a bunch of weddings to go to this summer besides your own. We had our DFTW on July 17th, then we had our reception back at my husbands farm two weeks later. Last weekend we were at his cousins wedding and this weekend we are off to my friends wedding. We have been home 1 out of the last 9 weekends and I am so tired. I don't think it would be so bad, but all the weddings have been in different provinces and we're spending 8-10 hours in the car or on airplanes every weekend.

Anyway, I just thought I would do some venting and see if anyone else is bogged down with weddings this summer.

Maybe it's just the post wedding blues :guilty: Your probably just all planned out!!!

I'm not sick of weddings - but there were a lot for me too this year. NC in April and two in July, one which I was in. Then add in two weekends of family reunions, dress shopping for my wedding, introducing the parents, meeting with the wedding venue...It's been a busy summer. I finally had two weekends to myself - went to the zoo on Saturday with DF and slept in the next.
So not sick of them, just a busy summer. One that's more busy than usual, I think that's what hit me the most.

I think mine's the last one I'll be going to for a while - all my friends got married several years ago! Next up, baby showers... :rotfl:

All that running around would drive me nuts, too! I don't blame you for wanting a weekend to yourself.

I haven't had any weddings since May, and that's alllllright by me.

I know sometimes I get tired of wedding talk, but then I enjoy it very much

I'm not sick of weddings, but I'm frustrated by out-of-town weddings. I have 3 over the next 10 months. And not a state or two away from NJ -- one in New Orleans, one in Denver, one somewhere in Minnesota. Worst part is all 2 of the 3 couple are live in my area, so I don't get why they're getting married out of town, and the one in Denver will have probably 60% of the guests coming in from NY/NJ. It just gets way too expensive, between gifts, plane tickets, and hotels!

i've only ever been to 3 weddings and one of them was mine!! so cant help, sorry!

Nope. We've just attended one wedding this year in June. Most of my friends are now married and having kids too. I had 2 big wedding years - the same year I got married 1997 and 5 yrs later in 2002. Both years I had more than 5 weddings to attend. If I could afford it I would get married every year just for myself. Maybe that's why I'm working hard at becoming a Wedding Planner so I can do weddings all the time. And also planning our 15th Anniversary/Vow Renewal at WDW.

Welcome to my world. We are pretty much, the last to get married. There are a few stragglers of course, but no weddings in the future. For the past year, I've had to attend a minimum of 3 weddings a year, then the subsequent baby showers!!!!!!

We actually aren't doing a bouquet toss at my wedding because there will only be two girls to catch it!!

I haven't been to a wedding since my dad got married last year......and that was a quickie in Vegas lol. I'm so excited to be planning my wedding that I can't relate. Any and all wedding topics interest me! Just keep thinking positive im sure you'll get excited once summer wears off!:goodvibes

I can sort of relate. One of my best friends got married two months after I did and she was (I'm sorry to say) one of those dreaded bridezillas. She seems to have gone back to normal now, but for a while I didn't even want to answer the phone I was so sick of her wedding.

Prior to that our best man got married to his GF of less than a year so that (and I quote) they could have a half price honeymoon (because we paid for the trip for our wedding party - flights, hotel, and park passes). So needless to say, that one didn't sit very well either.

Then in September I have to go to my uncles third wedding, and I have to say I'm not really looking forward to that one either... I mean, how many times are you going to promise forever?? I'm sure he should change the vows to: "To love, honor and cherish until at least the middle of next week..." Not to mention I got him a really nice gift for wedding #2 and that was only a handful of years ago.

But I'm usually in better humor about weddings, just not this year.

I am sick of wedding talk - I can't wait for the day after when we are on the flight to Orlando, 2 whole weeks of fun and happiness and no stress ahead of us :goodvibes :cloud9:

I am glad to see I am not the only one out there. I actually took yesterday as a sick day just so I could spend an afternoon sleeping in my own bed!

We're finally done with all the weddings and travelling and I am looking forward to spending my first weekend alone with my new husband since we got married on July 17.

Part of our craziness over the past 2 months has been due to the fact that we also decided to get a new puppy right after the wedding. It has been a lot of work, but it is totally worth it to come home and have her wagging up and down excited to see us. My husband even told me last night "getting her is one of the best things we've done together" and it totally made my night.
