Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

Hi, I have read the above with dread, I rang disney on Thursday and said the only one we could possibly do is the 27/8 and wanted them to put on hold until tomorrow when i will find out if can do this cruise. They told me not to worry, they have rooms put back .................. can I ask who told you they could not do the 27/8 cruise as told by disney?

Don't worry too much about this. I was playing around on the disney cruise website an hour ago looking at what cabins were still empty (dreaming of an upgrade to a verandah). There are still cabins showing as empty, although none in Cat 10 and 11 and only a few in 9. I am not sure what you originally booked, but I am sure they can fit you on the boat. Someone else might just be lucky enough to get an upgrade.

Cheers
Anna

eeyorefanuk - Just reread your original post and you had a verandah booked originally. There are a bunch of these still empty per the Disney website.

Hi Anna, :goodvibes

Yes we did book a verandah, thank you for taking the time to have a look for me.

I do appreciate all your help

BWV Dreamin --Is that day our sea day? That's when I would try to schedule Palo -- just incase you are either running late or just plain ol' exhausted from touring all day :confused3

Also, do you have main dining or late seating?

Hi, Just in case you are interested, there is a "cruise package" available where it picks you up from the airport and then the next day transfers you to the cruise port. :goodvibes

I already have that cruise package booked! Great deal!:thumbsup2

Hi,yes I was quoted 35 from airport to cruise!taxi
Ask your hotel if do cruise package!most near airport do!You pay some extra, but includes more transfers from airport-hotelBB-cruise I found these to cost approx 100-150 euro total based on 2/3 people sharing. Some hotels do not advertise this,so ask them?

I really don't know when I should book Palo. We have late seating confirmed. I would think the formal night would be on the sea day? We might schedule Palo on that night, but is the menu special on the formal night?

Usually it is lobster tail on formal night

Would it be possible to schedule Palo on the first night we leave the Port? I wonder if the waters are any rougher on that first night?

Anna,

Me again :rolleyes1 Can I ask how did you manage to see if there any empty cabins if the cruise is not showing as on sale? I would like to have a look to see where the rooms are.

We can't know for sure when formal nigh twill be (yet) but my guess is it will be that sea day. They tend to put it near the end of the cruise, but never on the last night--so the sea day fits perfectly in this case.
There is a special menu for formal night (and as someone else noted--lobster is almost always on it).

There is no reason the water would be rougher leaving Barcelona than leaving any other port on the cruise. The first night is one of the easiest to book Palo on as most people are anxious to meet their waitstaff and want the main dining rooms. I think it is a good time to go to Palo as you are not likely to miss anyhting overly spectacular in the dining room (you can be sure you will not miss formal night or pirate night that way:thumbsup2)

I am hoping you manage everything allright. I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way and will be checking on here tomorrow anxious to see a post saying you ARE indeed cruising with us:goodvibes

Hello Everyone! :welcome: to all of the new cruisers!

Sorry I've been away so long but unfortunately I came down with a sever case of bronchitis and have been laid up for days. I'm back up and caught up with all your chatter. :thumbsup2

I've only done one FE exchange before and it was the TransAtlantic last year. We left it open for delivery when ever and it seem to work out well. Since the cruise is full now we may get a lot more people for the FE exchange. Do we want to set a number of cabins then start FE 2 or do we just want to leave it? :confused3 On the TA we had 3 FE exchanges, one was over 60 cabins and that was a lot to bring home from Europe.

Hi, hope you are feeling better. Please include us in the fe exchange, we are 2 adults and DD12. Thanks, Joy

Roni--I was looking more on teh website. I love that you have provate tours options listed (though we are not doing anyhting we cnanot do all by ourselves this tiem around;)). Anyway, if you want to add another for Rome we used limo in Rome in May and they did a nice job. Their website is:

If there is another couple traveling alone on this cruise and would like to be seated with my husband and I, let me know. I can get my travel agent to make it so we will have the same dining table.:goodvibes

Thank you for the info. The tour prices for this company are cheaper because they do 4, 6 and 8 people. I am hoping someone wants to split the tour costs, because it covers way more than Disney does.

Not only do you get to see more than a Disney Excursion, but they pick you up and drop you off at the ship - no need to get transportation anywhere... truely, this seems to be the best option for a first time visitor that wants to get the most from thier visit.

I'll add them... but I think the reason why I didn't add them was because they don't offer pick up from La Spezia, but if they must, then there is a 100 euro fee ontop of the price. Not sure if this is the one, but you are right, I should add them to the list so people have choices.... on my way to update.

WE did this as a group of 6 in May and really saw a lot. More than any DCL tour allows-and we enjoyed having our own little group:goodvibes

Yes, they are only for Rome and Naples I believe. I figure not everyone wants to go somewhere big on every port so it may help out some people who just want one or two places. Some people want to do everything because getting here is expensive and it may be their only chance--I get that:dance3: The flip side of that is that it is exhausting to do full day tours several days in a row and some choose to take one or more days off from that and just see the port area on their own or hang out on the ship so that they enjoy :dance3: the other days more. nothing wrong with either--just different strokes for different folks:thumbsup2 Heck, we are not going into Florence or into Rome on this trip :rotfl:

I'm one of those people who think that this will probably be the only time we make this trip, with airfare being $4,300... odds of returning are slim to none - so I want to see it all - or atleast beat myself up trying

Hello all!!! We were on the sep 3 cruise and got the same cat 5a on the aug 27 cruise!!! My question is we were planning on the Rome adults only tour do we need to buy Vatican tickets separately from the vatican or are they included in the price of the Disney cruise line excursion?:confused3
