Is Animal Kingdom worth it in the heat??

Our family has found AK to be the best park on hot sunny days (and we were just there August 8-16, it was HOT and straight sun every day). The safari was a bit tough with lots of animals hiding in the heat but AK has so much more shade than every other park that we found it the most bearable both last August and this year!
Hollywood Studios may have more indoor rides but the park as a whole and especially Toy Story Land is downright dangerous on days like we had last week. We swore we'd never ride SDD again during daylight hours...

Rope drop will make you or break you on a hot day. Be at the park early.

Personally, I'd do a themed water park. I've heard great things about Volcano Bay, but either Disney water park or Aquatica could be fun. Or Discovery Cove. But I'm a hot weather weenie who sticks to water based activities in Orlando at this time of the year.

As others have said, AK really does offer more shaded areas of respite than the concrete jungles of DHS and Epcot, so it never quite feels as brutal. Even queues can be more comfortable - take EE and its strategic fans vs Remy and its...cement walls. As with any time spent outdoors in the scorching FL heat, however, you want to plan smartly - arrive early (or late), take breaks, guzzle water, enjoy an extended lunch or dinner, etc.

A trip to the conservation station can also be a great experience to escape the heat and sun (mostly, for the indoor parts of the station, obviously not the petting zoos!) on a summer day.

If you do Florida most anytime, chances, are it is going to be hot. just go and do what you can. if it gets to hot hit someplace cool and AK has no shortage of A/C
places. see a show, inside ride or have a drink.

Animal kingdom has the most shade IMO

I like Ak the best on a hot day...I'd seriously avoid Studios in the heat ever again tho!
