is American Girl made in America?

Yup, "home of the lead-painted toys" China.

I am getting my DD a Bitty Baby for Christmas and called to ask. They said they are made in "Asia". When I pushed, they admitted it was China.

ugh, i hadn't even thought about this! i guess the title "american girl" only goes as far as the name, huh? i hope i don't end up sending everything back b/c it's poisonous!

That's a shame; when the company was still family owned it was made in America. I have a friend whose sister worked at the factory in Wis. making the doll clothing. My dd is 18 now so we owned our AG (Molly) several years ago.
