A previous post made me wonder. I made my reservations for CSR thru AAA. Will I be able to see this ressie online at Disney's web site? I've never tried and before I go digging out my paperwork I thought I'd ask the pro's

I don't believe so. I've been told by resort CMs that they cannot look anything up on a AAA reservation until a couple days prior to the arrival of the guest. At that time, the information is updated to Disney's system. In fact, the reservation number used by AAA is not even the same format as a Disney reservation number.

No, the reservation is "owned" by AAA. You'll need your AAA agent to do all inquiries, changes, or special requests for you.

Thanks...I knew going in that AAA would have to handle all inquiries/changes with Disney. I would have done it myself but the savings was over $300. That's at least a snack or two :lmao:

I love to have control of my reservation but I also like the discount that I can get with AAA. My solution is to book the reservation myself and then transfer the reservation to AAA at the last possible moment (just before final payment is due). I am constantly making changes to my reservation and I like to be able to control this myself.

But if you do that, don't you run the risk that a AAA room might not be available? There are only a set number of AAA rooms set aside and if that original room booked is not a AAA room, you may not be able to get the AAA rate once trying to rebook. For instance, last week I had my AAA TA look to see what the rate at CR would be for our week and was told there are no AAA rooms left there.

You can do AAA room only thru Disney yourself. I have done it the last 5 visits. I do not do the package, otherwise I would have to go thru a AAA agent.

That is a good question, I am not sure. I have never had a problem switching my existing reservation over to AAA at the last minute. I didn't realize that they were rebooking my reservation. I know that I always receive a new booking number through AAA, but I always thought that my same reservation was assigned a new number. Perhaps the reason we have never had a problem is because we always go during the off season. Thanks for the heads-up.

This is a great idea. I did it for my next trip and save almost $1K over the package deal for a week stay. You also get to maintain control over your reservations instead of working it through the AAA travel agent. I took my deals I got through Disney back to AAA just to make sure and they could not do any better. So why give up that control.

I know, I like control over my reservation also, but we wanted the DDP + MYW ticket on top of our AAA room and the only way to do that was thru a AAA TA. We are debating whether or not we will do this for our 2009 trip. DD will be 10 on that trip, so that puts her at the $38 (or whatever the 2009 cost will be) and not sure it will be worth it. We plan on checking that out on next trip - where we eat, how much and could things be split, etc.
