Is a year too late to do a TR? A whole year later... Sept 2011!

Oh how horrible to have to deal with organisers like that. even worse that they're family!

Quick addition to round off day 1:

We arrived at the lovely Disneyland resort and oohed and ahhed over their refreshing drinks in the lobby! We were a little early so headed out for a walk to Downtown Disney. This bit of the trip is a bit vague but I remember loving it. Having a look around the lego store especially, love that place.

Came back to the hotel around 2.30 and the girls were completely stuffed, we figured they'd been up 32 hours by then with an hour or two's sleep which is a long time for a preschooler and a preppie! (First year of school in Qld for NZers ;) ) They were so tired, and at this point started crying. A wonderful CM came over and gave them each a lovely big balloon which cheered them up a lot and DH asked if our room might be ready yet. Yes it was! We headed up there so the girls could have a nap, ordered room service for dinner (lovely! Can't remember what it was though :lmao: ) and tucked in for a good night with the Disney headboards doing their thing (love them!).

I'm slightly cheating with the timing of this photo, ignore the World of Colour spinny thing that Miss 4 somehow already has (photo might be from a few days later ;) ). It shows the location of our room though, a nice simple carpark view which was a spectacular spot for the Wishes fireworks each night!

Glad you got a nice CM to help you out with the check in. And that room view is great.

17 Sept 2011 - Day 2.

Our first day to hit the parks!

I remember heading out of our hotel and hitting the little cafe nearby, Compass Books & Cafe, for breakfast. Who knows what we ate... I know I would have got coffee! (That's right. A "low foam" latte - no such thing as a flat white!)

Then off to the original Disneyland!

I also remember thinking (before we left) that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was not something we would do on this trip. Make-up? On my sweet innocent girls? Noooooooo. Well, cough cough, it was the second thing we checked out in the park and we booked it for 7.30am the next morning, lol. As we wandered out of the Boutique, who should we stumble across but Sleeping Beauty!

A little bit further around the corner, we came upon one of the morning parades and Miss 5 got invited to join by the Mad Hatter. Mickey was there, Alice, Pinocchio, Chip & Dale, Donald, Goofy... she was a lucky girl!

Food pics: Alas, I did not get many of these on the trip. But I did on this first day, lol. So behold: sandwiches (one turkey, one vege) at Hungry Bear Restaurant, Critter Country for lunch

Island Fish & Chips, Asian Chicken Salad and chicken nuggets at Tangaroa Terrace (Disneyland Hotel) for dinner:

Boy, those nuggets look good

All in all, it was a pretty laid back day - a little busier since a Saturday but we made great use of the MouseWait app - gold!

I'll finish off with a couple of ride pics - a slice of Aus in It's a Small World (lots of NZ to come too at a later date ;) ), and the ride I never managed to get my girls on twice. Can't figure out why.

ETA notice I am wrapped around DD4, and DH not so much around DD5. I figured I would act like a seatbelt for DD4 and it was a good idea, poor old DD5 shot forward and crashed into the front bit at the bottom. Dads just don't think of these things lol. Moral of the story: not a bad idea to hang on to your little ones!

Yay! Awesome pics! I'd love my kids to be picked for a parade, looks like so much fun :)

Your poor DD5 :( Did she get hurt?

I am loving your TR. I think its amazing the details you are remembering, I think my holiday is already getting fuzzy and I have been back only 1 month. Cant wait to find out more about your holiday. Now I think I am addicted to TR's and cant wait till after work this afternoon to go on the boards and track down some more.

It's amazing how much you remember when you do actually sit down to do it Tash - amazing how much you forget too but little things come back to you. I had a wee bit of help yesterday when I did a post search and found I'd posted here on our first Disneyland day so I could cheat and use what I'd written :rotfl2:

DD5 sure got the highs and lows of Disney that day. The Mad Hatter and the Splash drop. Now....which one is the high and which one is the low???? ;)

Love the look of the Asian Chicken Salad. Was it as good as it looks?
