Is a year too late to do a TR? A whole year later... Sept 2011!

Enjoying the first instalment but I really need you to share a picture of your completed kitchen renovation now :lmao:. You had me intrigued, following along with the progress and then nada. Surely you can share a pic :)?

Great start, that sounds like a great tour that allowed time for a stop off at Walmart :thumbsup2. I too would like to see a pic of your completed renovations :)

Nice start! You have done well to remember so much detail considering the trip was one year ago. And I can understand why you didn't a TR straight away!

Ah...kermie...Did you get a personalised Kermit muppet when you were at FAO Schwartz?

love the TR so far and am eagerly awaiting your next installation.

also would love to see the reno'd kitchen :)

did you know build a bear has a limited time only build a kermit who is a real puppet? you can buy kermie outfits and everything :) (we have a kermit fan in our house too)

thats exactly what i was thinking i was just getting into the renovation process :rotfl2:

I was quite worried you guys would think I was taking over my TR with a renovation report! :rotfl: You might have thought you'd come to the wrong boards. ;) Thanks for the comments so far!

I'm keen to hear how well they cope with all the flights as I'm concerned my 5 year old is going to struggle.

To be honest, they were super stars, I am amazed how well they coped over our five flights total, I think they were very happy to be on such an adventure and they really enjoyed the movies (they did need propping up to see the screens properly though, which don't tip down very far and appear dark if you are looking at them on the wrong angle - so something to sit on is very handy). They just didn't sleep much which is hard on such a long flight. It was impossible for them to sleep sitting up in their seat when to their body clocks, it wasn't late enough yet... and there wasn't nearly enough room to have them lie down (we were three across, DD4, me, DD5 then aisle. DH just across aisle and up one.)

Well done on remembering so much :). Did the organizers not realise that they could change seating allocations before each flight? That would have been a pain :(

Thanks for pointing out that morning flights with kids are hard. We figured it might be the case, but now we will really make an effort to get arvo flights do the boys will get at least some sleep. ANZ Skycouches are looking more enticing all the time :)

The organisers knew, they just refused to, they felt we were being too precious. :worried: And as for Skycouches, we have Kiwi friends who live in CA at the moment and they really recommend them (their children are 7, 4 and 2).

You've twisted my arm. ;) I've updated the original post with a few more pics and some 'before' ones to explain why we did it in the first place. :)

Yeah! I think because we filled two buses on our own, we had some flexibility with our tour, and it literally was a combination transfer/tour :D

We ran out of time to get to FAO Schawartz! Hence the need to return :thumbsup2

No! Do you mean in the Aus stores? I must go looking! :D

:D

You're kidding? It's not like the kids were teenagers!

Ohhhh, I think I'm old on the Skycouch (maybe I should get Karen to slum it in Economy one trip to try it out?!! :roflol: )

Did you friends happen to mention if they let all three kids on at once? I think I read that an adult has to be on there at all times.

I should mention that any little hiccups mentioned herein did not in any way impact on the actual trip part of our trip, which rocked from start to finish!

That totally sucks! The only time I have ever travelled in a group was as a sister exchange thing - my first taste of Disney. I was 16, so use to being told what to do! Did you lose it at them at all? I probably would have. I tend to be much more 'assertive' when it comes to my kids than if it only affects me.

Geez, Franrose, that is rough of the organisers and, oh my gosh, even worse that they were related to you! Was the group mainly adults? I'd presume it was a mixed adult/child group considering you were going to DL and WDW.

First of i love your renovations :)
The next bit that doesn't exist oh my Gosh

Gosh Franrose thats rough :sad1:

Like PrincessInOz said Families...can't live with them, can't live without them.

In hindsight at least your next trip will be the family trip you expect:)

I think it stinks when organisors takebyour money but dont consider your opinions . i would never do that!!

I love your kitchen! It's exactly what I want, even the colors!

Now we just have to decide whether to renovate/extend or knock down and rebuild. Oh and the money to do it all would be nice too. Somebody keeps on insisting on Disney holidays though.... :)
