Is a split stay possible with a confirmed RCI ressie at DVC?

I have a week long stay at SSR for the fall booked. My sister, niece, and I are using only 3 nights of the week and would I'd like to know if other family members would be able to use the remaining 4 nights as the reservation is for a confirmed week (exchanged through RCI). Is this possible? How is it handled, especially now that magic bands are part of the whole experience, etc.. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'd hate to see 4 nights go to waste as they are already paid for! Thanks so much!! Looking forward to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!! Our first time ever and I've been to Magic Kingdom over 30 times in my lifetime.

Maybe someone on the DVC Resorts thread would know something about this. You should post this question there. I don't think the average person knows how RCI works, unless they own a timeshare.

You can't change out who is on the reservations with an RCI confirmation but you can add up to the number of people allowed by the room, so you could add up to that number of people for the whole stay even if they were only staying for part of the week. This of course if a problem if you are using the dining plan or only have a studio in which case only 1 person could use the room the rest of the week.

I wonder if you could get by with not putting a CC on the room and get extra KTTW cards for the room and trade them off. If not, then maybe a prepaid card with minimal funds. Certainly listing them as if staying with you the entire time would be the simplest. You should be able to list up to 5 people, even if it didn't cover everyone who'd be there when you're not, it'd give 2 people direct access and listing and if they needed more keys, they could get extra KTTW cards if needed. They could then add a CC later once your gone if hey wanted.

The main issues with not listing all the guests for the entire time would be with FP+ and Magical Express. The guests not listed would only be able to make FP+ reservations 30 days out and those not listed could not use ME.

I assume none of the guests would want a dining plan, since that also would present a problem.

I don't see any of those as big issues. As noted, FP+ can be made at 30 days out for anyone not on the reservation. The DDP isn't a dead issue but I assumed they weren't doing it since they were only using 3 of the 7 nights. My view is one tells DVC what's intended and the names and let them work it out. If that means one can only list 5 people of the total (don't know the numbers above the 3 initially), I see that as totally workable. We've done this several times and will again in a couple of months.

I don't either, but many people do think 60 days vs 30 days is a big deal, so the OP needs to know. It's certainly a big deal if you have a little one who really wants to meet Anna & Elsa!
