Is a FP needed for Navi if you want to go at night?

I've read that Navi is totally different at night and we'd like to try it. I've also seen tons of acvice telling people to rope drop Navi and use their FP for FOP (assuming you can even get one.)

But is the advice the same (to use your FP on FoP) even if we plan to do Navi at night?

Not sure why Navi River Journey would be different at night since it's an indoor ride? Anyway, we've only been to Pandora at night one time (a few times during the day), but at least on that night (July 16 I think) NRJ was a 20 min wait. (We were checking FOP wait times sporadically from ~July 5-18 and the shortest standby time we saw was 90 mins.)

Yes, Pandora looks different during the day than at night. I think the floating mountains stand out much more during the day, whereas the glowing plants take center stage at night
