Hummm I voted yes because it was a bread and had filling. I can see the point that honestly it isn't a sandwich like a normal sandwich shop would sell though. Interesting.

I would define a sandwich as meat or something else placed between two slices of bread. When we start finding the tortilla loaf and slicing it down then I will classify a burrito as a sandwich, until then its just tasty. :thumbsup2

from the story:

"The difference, the judge ruled, comes down to two slices of bread versus one tortilla".

See, then I have to disagree and say it IS a sandwich. Is a "hoagie" a sandwich? I think so. Is a Philly cheesesteak a sandwich? I think so. They don't use 2 slices of bread; they use a roll. What about "croissandwiches"? How about sandwiches on a panini?

I thinks Panera is "technically correct", but wrong in what is "fair and ethical".

I put 'no' before the read the article, because I don't think of a burrito as a sandwich. I have no idea why. Never even crossed my mind. :confused3 :sunny:

BTW, while "technically" not in the same shopping center, Panaera and Qdoba both are on ground owned by the same guy where I live, and while they are separated by a street, it "feels" like part of the same shopping center. So, I guess the 2 companies are always battling it out.

I disagree. A hoagie is so-called because it isn't really a sandwich...but it is a lot closer than a burrito. Burritos aren't even close to a sandwich.

If the word sandwich can't be added to the end, it isn't one. :teeth:

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Baloney sandwich.

Ham sandwich.

Chicken sandwich.

Roast beef sandwich.

Burrito sandwich - NOPE!

Philly cheesteak sandwich - nah. Close, but no.
