Is a 4 night cruise worth $3400 more than a 3 night cruise?

Hello everyone,

I'm just trying to pick an Australian Disney wonder cruise and I'm coming across this debacle.

We have never been on a cruise but we are unsure between a 3 and a 4 night cruise both departing from Melbourne and going nowhere else.

The difference in price, because we have to get two rooms is AU$ 3400 which seems to be alot for 1 extra night?

Is it worth is or just keep it at 3 given that we re going to Disney World and will have a Disney cruise in the Caribbean a few months after?

That's a lot for one extra night - I would keep it at 3 or even consider canceling the whole thing and just enjoying your DCL cruise when you get to FL unless you are getting a fairly decent price on the 3-night.

But does a 3 night really feel super short?

The 3 night will cost us $5700 for two rooms

Keep the three nights. That's an awful lot of money for one extra night. Three nights is very short, but I think four nights is short too.

That's just a bit over US$2200. I guess I don't know how many people are in your group, so I don't know how much more per person you'd be spending. I personally find the 4-night cruises to be much more enjoyable than the 3-night cruises, though.

How are you pricing out these cruises? The DCL website just says "Coming Soon!" for the AU/NZ cruises...

I agree that's a lot for 1 extra night. Keep the 3 night. You get to experience all 3 restaurants with their signature menus. And with no ports of call, you have 2 full days on the ship, plus embarkation day.

Edited to add that this first DCL cruise means you'll be at the silver level for your 2nd cruise in the Caribbean. For your Caribbean cruise, you'll be able to book activities (port adventures, tastings, etc.) at 90 days out vs 75 for first time cruisers.

I think a 3 night is super short but...I'd never pay that much for an additional night unless that's for 12 people!! :P

Usually, I say 3 nights is too short. But That would be a cruise that stops at Nassau and Castaway Cay.

With a cruise to nowhere, I’d save the money and enjoy the ship life for 3 nights.

Does the 4-night sail over a holiday? (Just curious - it would better explain - but not justify - the big price increase).

2 adults four kids who will be 12, 10,7 and 5.
I just put the age and the number not rooms on the website and have me the price do you think that's incorrect?
Cheers

4 nights feels extremely short to me, I wouldn’t expend the effort for just 3 nights. It will be over much too quickly.

For that price difference do a 7 day that’s not on the wish! Seven days beats the shorter cruise. It’s a completely different vacation than one of the shorter cruises.

Ahaha yeah I Wish..
This is for the Cruise that is coming to Australia, where we are located, only the Wonder is coming over.
The 6 days option is 3 timea the price

Also, not sure what category room you're looking at. We've been happy in the deck 2 Oceanview rooms (category 9C) on the Wonder and Magic. Verandahs tend to be priced higher on those ships vs Dream/Fantasy. (We saved thousands on our Alaska and Baltic Sea cruises by choosing deck 2 Oceanview rooms.). Inside rooms are even cheaper...but I need to be able to look outside.
