Is 7pm Too Early For Rose & Crown Dinnner (for Illuminations ) ?

If you arrive around 6:45-50 for your reservation and its fairly busy, you'll be in good shape so long you draw things out a bit, order drinks, take some time, order an appetizer (I suggest the cheese plate), order dinner, maybe dessert. Also, if you tell your waiter/waitress you're trying to see fireworks, they'll do their best to draw things out for you course wise. Make it a leisurely meal (I do suggest doing multiple courses and telling your server to be safe) and you should be fine. Most times we have an ADR at 7:30 or 8 which works out very well.

You have 2 hours before Illuminations starts. I don't think it's likely that they will let you stretch out your dinner that long, unless the parks are extremely quiet. If it is busy, they will definitely be trying to turn the table over. You'll have much better luck if you can get an ADR for around 45 minutes to an hour later.

7:30pm- 7:45pm is the ideal time. The trick is to have the ADR early enough to get a table on the deck, but late enough to stay for the fireworks. But, depends on the night. If they have people lined up for your table it could be a problem with a 7pm ADR, but if its slow they won't care. Last time we went there were empty tables on the deck (it was a cool Dec. night) and they wouldn't have cared how long you sat there.

Our reservation is for 7-05pm on Friday Sept 9th.
Is having a 2 hour dinner unreasonable ?
(Drink,starter,main course,desert ?)
What do you think the crowds will be at that time ?

2 hours is doable, but the fireworks don't start until 9:30pm. I'm guessing that week isn't one of their busiest, but we only go in December so I can't speak from experience.

The park crowds probably won't be heavy, but it's during free dining. So you have to expect heavy demand for the tables. IMO if Illuminations isn't till 9:30 then you just won't be able to stretch it out that long.

ETA: I see on the reservations site that there is no availability for anything (I checked a table for 4-just guessing) after 7:00 pm. That leads me to believe the place will be packed that night.

Several years ago I had a reservation around that time and when we go there I was specifically told, "you won't be able to stay until Illuminations"

Of course they then gave us the SLOWEST waiter in Disney. Seriously we ordered beers and dinner. Made NO effort to slow down etc. At 8:45 PM we were still at the table (Laughing at the thing by then... we just ordered two more beers and stayed) I actually tipped him fairly well, but under any other circumstances it would have been low. He was CLUELESS

2 1/2 hours is an unreasonable amount of time to tie up a table at the Rose & Crown to view Illuminations. You will be preventing some one with a later ADR from being seated at their ADR time.
This is not a 2 - 2 1/2 hour meal
