If I can visit DL next time I visit my brother who lives in LA, I want to park hop. This means....a 3-day ticket. I have never been before but I never get tired of the Disney atmosphere...therefore I know that 3 days will not be too much for me. My brother isn't as much of a Disney "freak" and I worry that there are not enough attractions to keep him entertained. Is this true? I get the impression that Cal. Adv. is much like Ani. King. in WDW in that it is a wonderful park but with fewer attractions. What do you think?

Three days is definitely not too much! In fact, depending on how crowded it is, it may not be enough time to see everything!

If it is moderately crowded, it should take about 2 days to see everything at Disneyland at a leisurely pace. California Adventure, which is much better than Animal Kingdom IMO, should take anywhere from half a day to three-fourths a day. You can use the rest of the time to revisit your favorite attractions.

As for your brother getting bored, I don't think there's a chance! There's so much to see and do, and it isn't all "Disney." I enjoy the atmosphere of Disneyland just as much as the rides. Every land is so wonderfully themed that I could just walk around all day without riding a thing and be perfectly content. :)

Last year we went for two days, without being able to hop.
California Advenutre can EASILY be done in one day.
Disneyland, however, was somewhat of a blur. I wish we had one extra day to spend there.
I think three days is fine. You won't be bored. As a matter of fact, that is just what we are going to do this year.

3 days is what we usually do each trip. It gives you one day to devote to each park and a third day to go back and do favorites or things you missed. The hopping privillage is deffiently worth it at DL since you can LITTERALLY hop between the two parks (unlike WDW where you must take some form of transport between parks)
