Is $199 plus taxes/fees the best I'm going to do for a minivan?

I have been able to secure this rate at Alamo, Dollar and L&M. Last trip I know we got L&M for around $140, but it looks like their rates have increased. We are going in mid-November. Also, if this is the best rate, which company would you choose? (This is for a weekly rental)

Not sure what the rates will look like in the future, but, I would book it now and if it goes down, rebook.
I would go with Alamo, I don't like excessive holds put on my credit card which IMHO Dollars holds are excessive and I have heard very mixed reviews about L&M. Alamo charges your card for the entire amount of the rental that the beginning of your rental, no holds or deposits.

I wouldn't necessarily call Dollar's holds "excessive". Their policy @ MCO is that you need to have $200 or rental fee + 15% charged to your card, whichever is greater. 15% isn't really all that bad, and it will be credited back upon return.

I'd like to have the Alamo situation, but I haven't really been all that impressed from what I've heard regarding either Alamo or L&M.

Whatever you decide good luck, and have a great time!!!

It is just me, I don't like any holds on my accounts. I realize they credit it back, but, I would prefer to do business with people that don't place holds.

That is about the best you will do, give or take a few dollars. We used Alamo for the first time last month and I loved it. We signed up for their Quicksilver program and bypassed the line and got to pick our minivan out of about 30 available. Quick and easy. I used to rent with Dollar and had no complaints, but I think Alamo is easier.

They have minivans at $168 a week. Booked on orbitz...

Thanks everyone! We really need in-terminal car rental, since we have 3 very young children.
