I would love to travel solo to wdw but as I will have to come from europe I wondered if 14 days would be too long.

It would not be worth coming for 7 days because of the cost of the air fare

Also do disney resorts have single rooms

Ps I will not be driving

Thanks

14 days will give you plenty time to enjoy WDW and also to relax. Have you visited before?
The cost of a room is the same whether 1 or 2 people stay in it.

What I do now is a split stay on vacation. This next trip in 20 days will be 8 nights at Royal Pacific Resort at UF then 8 nights at Pop Century in WDW. This works best for me I have been to WDW many times and I like Universal just as much. For people without a car you just use Mears or another to transfer between the two.

Thanks for your replies

That is a great idea RussH, splitting the stay between two or three resorts, you could never get bored

I would love to have 14 days at WDW. What fun that would be, my longest trip so far has been 10 days and I still felt like it was too soon to leave when it was over.

We have a chat at 7PM GMT every Sunday, you should join us. I know there are several people in the UK who have toured WDW for as long as a month. They could offer you some great advice. I hope you will join us.

We did a 14 day trip from the U.K this year and it was great. We stayed on site at the beach club villas and had plenty of time to explore all resorts including both water parks and the beach club area. Plus we had time for days out of the park to discovery cove, kennedy space centre and some time in the shopping malls ( we used mears taxis for these trips which picked us up at our hotels.) We intend to do another 14 day trip on our next visit. :goodvibes

Over the years, I have spoken to many DVC members from the UK. So many of them stay at least 2 weeks and they love it. The longest we have stayed is 11 days/10 nights and it was great. Being solo would be wonderful for 14 days---- I have gone solo several times for 5/6 days and it isn't long enough. I think you will have a grand time and you will have time to relax. But I am a person who is never ready to leave Disney and go home!!!!!!!! I honestly think I could live there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11:yo-yo:

I would HIGHLY recommend that you plan to meet up with some people before you go. Have you done solo trips before? Do you know what you're comfortable with?

I did a 16-day solo trip to Europe recently, and I would have come home early if I were by myself the WHOLE time. I do love my "me" time, but it gets very isolating. Of course you won't have the language barrier, so that is a plus. I spent my first 3 days completely solo at Disneyland Paris, and I was SO happy to see my tour group on the 4th day, even though they were all strangers. I was with them for 7-8 days (had some solo time interspersed (sp?)) and then ~4 days solo at the end in Paris. I found myself getting very lethargic on my final solo days. The excitement of the trip had worn off, and being practically mute in a place where I didn't speak the language well was getting old. I was in much better spirits when my tour group was in town, even when I was off by myself. It's comforting to know you have somewhat of a support structure in the area.

Also, hotel pricing in the U.S. is different than in Europe. The cost is usually the same for one or two people. Most rooms will have 2 double or queen-sized beds, but you can ask for a room with just one bed if available. Single beds are virtually unheard-of. The price is usually the same for one bed or two, as long as there aren't additional people staying with you (they usually charge a small fee per person over 2). So, I like to get 2 beds so that I can keep all of my junk on one bed and sleep on the other, since i'm messy.
