So, I had a DISigner make me some AMAZING T-shirt graphics. I was able to download them, make them into templates, print them onto some iron-on printer transfer sheets... and then.... :headache::headache::headache:

I followed ALL of the instructions provided on the transfer sheets, and these things will NOT fuse to the T-shirt. I tried lowering the heat on the iron, and it helped... a bit... but by the time the design starts fusing, it is discolored by the heat and looks burned. I am ironing onto WHITE cotton T's.

The brand I purchased was "Transfermations" from Michaels.

Can anyone help me? I've already ruined two shirts, not to mention all of the ink I've wasted. I really want to get these made for our end-of-June trip.

Thanks for any advice!:goodvibes

Sorry, I have never used those transfer sheets. Penny

I'm surprised no one has posted to you yet, because you will get this same reply a zillion times. When I started making t-shirts about 6 months ago, I purchased every retail transfer out there, I think! Unfortunately, like you, I wasted alot of shirts and ink (very frustrating and disappointing) because of all sorts of reasons. There is a disigner on here that sells outstanding transfers by mail that can't be beat. I have made so many shirts now that they turn out so well. You need to find Amy, otherwise known as M_I_C_K_E_Y. If you send her a PM, she will email you the information to purchase. She is not permitted to advertise here on the disboards, so that is how you reach her. She has a thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2234131) or you can look under the "Meet the Disigners" link at the top of the page you posted your request and link to her there. You will be happy you did. Just remember, wash your shirts first, but DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER. The transfers will come with parchment paper, but I didn't have very good luck with it. I just put a pillow case over the disign and then iron (NO STEAM). Wait a few minutes to cool, then slowly peel off pillow case. VOILA! She includes great directions with the transfers. I am getting ready to order from her again. Good luck and welcome to the addiction.

Penny, I hope I was allowed to post this information on here, If not, I'm sorry. I'm still relatively new to the boards and the rules. I think other people posted this information to me originally. Let me know if this was wrong. Thank you.

I second using AmyMickey transfers. They are a little more expensive, but easy to use and the shirts turn out wonderful.

We aren't allowed to post a link to her website, but we are allowed to say we love her transfers.

Awesome.. thanks so much! It's just terrible that they can sell things that don't work and waste our time and money! I'll send Amy a message right away!

It is a pain. Many Years ago I made many shirts for one of my trips. they were fun on the trip, but when I washed them, they were runied. I couldn't use them again. Now I get 2 or 3 trips. :) Penny

I just ordered some of Amy's transfers! Had been thinking about them for a while but finally decided to get them for our next trip. Can't wait to try them out and looking forward to shirts that don't crack after the first wash!!! :yay:

I'm so glad to see this post... I have been thinking about trying them too. Thanks for saving me the time and ink:)

Thanks for posting! I'm making a shirt for my son's birthday and this saved me some time and ink!

Amy only does non-Disney, right? Does anyone sell Disney transfers that can be sent to me? My issue is my ink jet printer has died, and my only working printer is a laser printer. I assume an ink jet is preferred (needed) for transfers, and I'm not replacing it until I replace my computer in the fall.

She only makes non-Disney designs, but she sells transfers and then you print them on the transfers. They are high quality, I've order probably 6 orders from her. My shirts have lasted more than a year being washed often.

Good luck!:thumbsup2

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I can not pm her because I am new to the board. Thank you

Thanks so much again, everyone! I found the site, and ordered a 20 pack. If these turn out the way y'all are saying, I'll have enough left over to make some for our October trip!!:thumbsup2

Glad we could help some people out... I'll let you know how it goes!

Thank you for the information. I placed an order today and can't wait to get started.

I've used Print 'n Press by Tailor that I got from Walmart. They worked fine. The only thing is that you have to remember to print out your image in mirror image, then you flip it over and iron on the backside. They came out fine so far.
