Ironing Question

I have got black marks apearing on the metal plate of my iron! Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I have tried rubbing it with a jay cloth type cloth but to no avail.

Hi Gems

You can get a cleaner for your iron from stores like Safeway/Tesco/Sainsbury? They usually are on the racks that have all the Thread, Sewing Needles and that sort of stuff on - it is like a white 'chalky-waxy-soapy' sort of stick, that you rub over the baseplate of your iron whilst it is slightly warm and then you wipe it off with a cloth.

They are not that expensive and I have found they work a treat.
