i'm visually impaired and i'm trying to think of ways i can more easily Id my luggage on the carousel.

i was thinking about buying some disney character iron on patches.

i remember when i was younger my sister would put them on her backpack and since backpacks and suitcases are the same type of material i figured it would work without ruining the luggage.

have you ever done this?

if so was it successful or not?

do you think i should try it?

Last trip to WDW, I bought some sheets of neon green Duck Tape and cut out large Mickey head shapes and put them on the front of my black suitcases.

The sheets are about 8"x10". I cut out a few smaller ones also and scattered them on the rest of the suitcase.

The contrast between the black and neon green and the size of the cutout were visible from a good distance. The tape came off cleanly at the end of the trip.

If they were in danger of being misdirected by the airline, those bright green ears would surely make them look twice and no one would mistake my black suitcases for their's!

Now I pick a shape- stars, palm trees- and a bright color and decorate my suitcase before every trip. I also snap a picture of the suitcase in case it is lost.

A couple years ago, DH punched a bunch of penguins out of reflective tape (I am a card maker and I have a punch) and stuck them all over our luggage and carry ons. As we were heading to our room late on our arrival day, a CM in a cart passed us, then came back and asked us if we were heading to such and such room. We said yes we were. Turns out, he'd seen the penguins glowing in the dark on our carry-on bags we were schlepping, and remembered seeing them on our checked bags that he'd delivered to our room earlier that evening. It was kinda a little magical to be recognized like that, called by name, and the fact that even though he was driving other guests to their room, he stopped and came back to us to make sure we could find our room ok.

Most of the reflective tape penguins held up really well. I think we only lost one off both bags the whole trip.

PP, I love the idea of the large Mickey heads.
