Iraqis Using Sacred Mosque In Battle

The cowardice continues...

Iraqi fighters are firing on our troops from inside of the Ali Mosque (a sacred mosque to many shiites), knowing that we won't readily fire upon holy sites.


Using a house of worship in that way is deplorable IMO.

But Jeff.... we are not surprised by this... a military that would use women and children as human shields would do anything....

I know we should not get down and dirty but it is so frustrating to hear how they are conducting themselves and yet we hold ourselves to a higher standard.......Hopefully, this conflict will be over soon... I pray for that.

The thing that ticks me off is when we shoot back we will be blasted by the media for "shooting at a sacred site"

I read where this Holy Mosque is claimed to be the burial site of the son-in-law of Muhommad (sp?). The One Star General who gives the CentCom briefings responded in an excellent way when he stated that " We (US) are not prevented from firing. We CHOOSE not to fire in on a holy site."
