DS has enough money for the 8gb model with the Best buy gift card he got for replacement of his Zune 8gb.

It will be $90 more to get the 32gb. We have the 8gb model, but I haven't opened it as I am having remorse over not getting the 32gb model.

As I said before, holidays are tight this year so if I did spring for the $90 more ($270 for 32gb after coupon I have), it would have to count as a large gift and he wouldn't get much more - we did already buy a speaker system for the ipod for his room too.

What would you do? Hate this buyer remorse feeling...

We're debating between the two as well. I think the voice activation would be a neat feature to have. We decided on a 16 but DD really wants the 3rd generation instead.

I would make it his big gift. In the long run he will be happier with it since it has so much more to offer than an 8 gig model.

Ipod touch 32 gig

also the 32 gig model has updated hardware that the 8 gig model does not have.

graphics enhancements, improved accessibility, higher capacity, and a faster processor
these improvements are only in the 32 gig and up

I've been dealing with this decision as well and decided to go with the 32GB for DD10 instead. Here's why.

She has had an 8GB nano for 2 years. It worked well for awhile but the past 6 months we've been transferring digital copies of Movies from Blu-Ray discs, more tv shows (she gets an iTunes allowance) and her creating her own playlists, the space limitation is just driving both of us crazy. Add to that the apps and space is at a premium. :scared1:

For only $90 bucks or so, you're getting 4x the amount of storage which is a very good value. :thumbsup2 I always tell people when they buy computers, the processor speed is fine but the memory is what you want to sink your money into.

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Thanks for the input.

I gave him the choice - keep the 8gb Itouch or we can get the 32gb, but it would be a big gift for Hanukkah. He absolutely, without hesitating, went for the 32gb model.

It does make more sense to get the big memory - I would hate for him to outgrow this thing in a short time.

Glad all of the kids are understanding this year - normally we go overboard with gifts!!!

You did the right thing. The 8GB really doesn't hold much when you start filling it up with free apps and movies. He will really enjoy it! My dd got hers last Christmas and is never ever without it.

I agree great decision....now if the 16 gig one I ordered would ever come so I can return it and buy the 32 gig I would be ecstatic! And done with holiday shopping.
