Okay so Im getting a 30 bg white ipod for Christmas but i need to know what would be good to protect the screen from damage. I've seen the plastic shields but I'm not sure if they are worth the money. Two I'm looking to play it in my car but I have a very temperental car, I guess you could say.

I have a creative zen and the FM transmitter I have for it, doesn't work. You move it a hair out of place in my car and it gets messed up. This is in a 2003 Honda Civic. A cellphone will interact with my speakers to tell ou how temperental my car is.

So my two questions are:

What should I get to protect it from getting scratches?

What would you recommend for the car system?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 30gig. I bought a cellophane type protective film to cover the face and then a JLO neoprene sleeve. Mine gets played in the car and I feel it's adequate protection. At the time I got it, the 30 gigs were new, so it was hard to find the lucite cases that are out now.

Can't help you on the car front-mine has a jack specifically to plug in an ipod. My stereo also recognizes the phone contacting the mothership. :)

I'm looking at getting a jack installed in my car so I can listen to it. It's a pain cause even with my bluetooth headset on, my phone has to set in a pocket or something so it doesn't mess with the speakers. it's very :furious:

I had read Kensington had the best reviews but I'm still worried that the money will be spent it and not work with my car. It's a great car but doesn't like digital electronics.

I'm so new to this all, that I'm scared i'm going to screw it up. Like when you have the songs, do you need to create playlists to have them seperately or what?

I just replaced my iTrip with the Monster iCar works really well in areas with a lot of radio stations. For some reason plugging it in brings about better reception then the over air transmission of the iTrip.

I have never known anyone who was very happy with those fm transmitter devices. If you can have a jack installed that would be great. Or you could get a new unit for your car that has the Ipod jack on it. You will enjoy the 30gig Ipod. I have over 6000 songs on mine.

My FM transmitter is fine for me. I get interference sometimes but I don't mind it. If you want NO interference don't get one.

I don't spend a lot of time in the car but I used the Itrip driving from Virginia to Florida once. I lost the signal only once, somewhere in South Carolina. That's acceptable to me, and much better than I expected, so I'll stick with it, rather than trading up. But if you want something that always works, don't go with the transmitter.

I'm going to be using it mainly driving around town and that but the one I have right now, I don't know why but there's not a single place in the car that really works. I don't know if it's my car or that. I'm going to see how much an auxillary jack would cost.

use the Invisible Shield for the whole iPod. the skins with the screen protectors slip, and scratch the thing. when you use a FM transmitter, you lose sound quality big time. if you really want to use your iPod in your car, go with a dedicated jack. that's what you'll find in new cars and airplanes.

Thank you! I have to have a jack installed in my car cause mine doesn't have one since it's an '03.

make sure you have your iPod armor when you buy it. the new nano's are aluminum like the old mini's and don't scratch. the video iPods scratch if you look at them wrong.

What does the I-pod armor look like? I know very little about them. I'm not even sure about if I have to set up playlists before I put the songs on the itunes so they are in order.
