iPod "freezes" on Podcasts

OK, this is not strictly a Disney question I know, but I have trouble with my iPod "freezing" when I try to playback my Disney podcasts. This does not happen EVERY time, but more times than not. I never had any problem with this happening when I just downloaded music, but when I started downloading the Podcasts, the problem began. And when I say freeze, I mean it. I can't select any other style, can not turn it off, no controls work. I just have to wait for the battery to go out, then recharge and resync and hope that it does not happen the next time. This ever happen to anyone else?

Mine freezes sometimes too. You don't have to wait for the battery to run out. If you hold down the middle button and the play/pause button at the same time for several seconds, it will reset itself.

I believe it's the center button and the menu button at the same time. Give it 5-10 seconds to start the rebooting.

Although the official instructions say to slide the hold button on and then off, and to then hold down the center and menu buttons until it reboots, it does seem to work without sliding the hold button first.

Regarding your iPod freezing, mine does too. It's a 2nd gen nano, and it freezes every once in a while when I try to play a podcast right after I synced the iPod on my computer. I chalk it up to a software glitch, and as long as I can reboot my iPod, I just take it as a minor nuisance.

Huh...I have never tried rebooting with the center button and menu button. But play/pause definitely works also. That is my method, and the freezing thing happens a lot for me.

I've had a similar problem with my 4th generation iPod, but instead of freezing, it would bump me out to the main menu and reset the play count for the podcast. This is apparently caused by having empty folders in the iTunes Podcast folder (from podcasts that I had downloaded previously, then deleted). So I just went and deleted the empty folders, and so far it hasn't happened again. Might at least be worth trying.

I find that I too have a problem with my iPod on Disney podcasts. Mine seldom freezes but as I am listening to the roundtable, my iPod will simply skip to the next episode that I have downloaded. Sometimes I can listen to the whole show, sometimes 2/3, and then there's times when Peter barely gets an intro. What's the deal, does anybody have solution to this?

It's not just your iPod, I listen to it directly via my computer and its freezing in the middle of John's description of the discounts.

Mine froze today for the first time but it was at the begining of Part 1. Luckily I had my computer with me and was able to listen to it.
