iPhone S question

How much is an iPhone4S? I want to get one for my sister, but not sure when she'll be due for an upgrade. I'm thinking that's a huge factor, right?

Yes that would be alot of extra $ if shes not due for an upgrade. Do you know what carrier she has(at&t or verizon?) I know I went to an at&t store a few years ago I asked if my dad was due for an upgrade.. gave his number and they just told me not at this time. They might tell you if you tell them you want to buy it for her as a surprise. If they wont you will have to tell your sister you want to buy it for her and have her go with you(if its at&t they still dont have them in the stores near my house and on the website its a 1-2 week shipping time) hth

No, it doesn't. I have Sprint. I paid $199 for the 16gb iphone 4s with an upgrade

At this point wait for the iphone 5. Rumored to be coming in summer 2012. The iphone 4S is a weak upgrade of the iphone4 (I have the 4). Steve Jobs made Apple what it is today. His last project before his death was the iphone5. He was not involved with the 4S. APple had production delays on the 5 and did not want to miss out on quarter 4 2011 shopping so they put a weak 4S phone out there.

If you cannot wait for the 5, don't spend the extra money and just get an iphone4.

Just placed our order for our iPhone 4S 32GB. DW's was $250 and mine $300 with a 2-yr contract through Verizon. We got the $50 discount on the DW's because we we're out of contract and they 'welcomed' us back.

These are our 1st smart phones, and although I hate the thought of paying $150 a month for phone service, I'm sure we'll enjoy it.

And IMO, the iPhone 5 won't be out till 2013.

That's with a contract. Unfortunately if you don't buy it with a contract they won't subsidize the cost of the phone and you'll have to pay full price.

If you (or she) doesn't sign a contract for phone service at the time of purchase, the phone alone (with no attendant contract) will set you back $500.

With the contract it's around the $200.

I disagree about it being a weak upgrade, but to each her own.

And the iPhone 5 won't be out that soon. Next thing due up...iPad3 and I cannot wait!
