Sometimes insomnia pays off. Got a Best Buy email that the iPad Mini 2 was one of today's deals, $75 off. I just ordered two. :cool1: no staying up until midnight, waiting in line or having to deal with giftcards was worth the $25.

$75 off isnt a bad deal at all. Congrats! :) Online shopping is the best isnt it? im planning to do some on-line black friday shopping, because last year i got most of my xmas shopping done that way. :goodvibes

Thanks, it made me happy. :flower3: My back up plan was to get the refurbs at Apple for $300. We are in the process of painting/moving, my kids birthdays are on Sunday and I just didn't know how I was going to manage staying up to order online or find the time to wait in line in the hopes of getting them. That about wraps Christmas for me. Hopefully it will help someone else too.

I'm so tempted to get a 32 gb one. I have a $25 off Amex offer so I could get it for $250.

That's what I ordered, two 32GB ones. The apps take more space on iPads and if you use it to take movies with you 32GB is the way to go. And $225 is amazing! I paid $500 for my 32GB rMini shortly after it came out.

You're not helping : )

I had an IPad 1 which I gave to my DD. She then traded it in for an IPad Mini. My DS has an IPad 2. Both are 16gb. I'm still using an IPhone 4 so my technology is old. I've been toying with the idea of buying a kindle, but at this price this does so much more for just about $100 more. Maybe then I'll get another year or so out of my current Iphone.

Now that you can get MS Office for free on IPad, this is an even better deal for me.

Thanks for the info. I am debating an iPad mini or mini 2 for the grandbabies. I just don't want to get them one that I can't download the good games on for them and I worry about that with the first version.

Im sorry, I'm an enabler of the worst kind.:rotfl2: I LOVE my iPad rMini (now called Mini 2). For what it's worth the ones I bought are replacing Kindle Fires for my kids. This is really a gift for me because the Fires have been an endless source of frustration for me. If you are used to Apple products and specifically iPads I think a Kindle would be disappointing.

How old are they? What kind of games? If they are simple games the Mini 1 would be fine. However if they are a little older and games more complex I'd get the Mini 2. Plus the Mini 2 will last longer as far as tech. Meaning if they're at an age where they like simpler games but will soon be crossing over into more complex games the 2 would handle it better.

I caved. I'm sure I will enjoy it although I'm guessing the kids will try to steal it from me : )

Also take a look at Target. They have some iPad models that are priced about normal but include a $100 Target gift card.

The Target deal may be a little better. It should be $349 + $100 gift card for a 32 gb (I had $25 off at Best Buy so for me they were equivalent). But I'm not sure if Target's deal will be online (I would think it will) and I've got dinner plans so I won't be there at 6pm tomorrow. So this deal wins for convenience for me but Target's deal is excellent too.

For some reason I saw "today" in richmo's post. Guess that's what happens when you're up buying iPads at 3am. :rotfl: But yeah, the Target deal is the best out there. Like you, I just didn't know if I'd be able to swing it time wise. For me losing the extra $25 was worth knowing it's done and out of the way.

They are 5 and 1. LOL It sounds so odd to be buying them for the little ones but they currently have our iPads so I'd rather them have their own. They play pretty easy games right now, like Disney games, Nickelodeon games, Angry Birds, Hay Day, etc. Actually, the even now have my Kindle too! I'm left with nothing but the babies are technologically kicking!! :rotfl:

LOL, kids are so tech savvy anymore. Ten years ago I didn't know how to do more than email, now I'm buying my kids iPads. I think the first ones would be fine for those ages, especially for the end price but I would expect Apple to drop that model next year and who knows how long new iOS systems will be supported. It's a hard call.
