We are a family of 6 from Indiana. Our rugrats are dd13,ds11,ds4,dd2. We had planned this trip and booked it in a matter of weeks. When the 4/3 deal came out we jumped on the phone and booked it. We have never done a deluxe resort at Disney or the DDP so we said, hey, we deserve it! DH won a big bid and we took the job bonus and paid for the trip plus we added in airfare. What a trip we had planned! We never fly now that we have all 4 kiddies. It always priced out too high but we got lucky and booked all 6 of us with SW for $1000 RT non stop. We would have only saved 200-300 driving what with hotel stays both ways, gas and food expenses on the road. It was soo nice to arrive in Orlando 2 hours after take off :cheer2:

We had such high hopes for this trip! Plans were made, reservations set, ADR's made..................

Saturday 1/31

Arrival day.

Limo arrived at 7am to take us to the airport. We arrived and checked our bags by 7:45am and made it thru TSA by 8am. Our plane doesnt depart until 9:30 so we hung out, watched the planes come and go, munched on some muffins and tea. Finally its boarding time. Girl sat together, boys sat together right behind us. The youngest two had never flown so they took window seats. We rented a CARES harness for our 2 year old, worked out great! Before we knew it we had left snowy Indy behind and were landing in sunny Orlando. Did I mention we had gotten 13 inches of snow the week we left????? We disembark and head for ME check in. I dont know if it was because it was saturday or if I had unreal expectations but I doubt we will ever take ME again. Our patience was truly tested. We waited an hour for a bus to AKL. :crazy2:

Checked in at AKL around 2pm. Got our rooms immediately and were soooo excited to cruise ourselves down to check out the view! We were in rooms 2323 and 2325. Connecting, savanah view, one room with 2 queens, one with queen and bunks. Couldn't wait to step out on the balcony. WHAT A VIEW!

Dinner was at Boma so we decided to just hang out and check out the resort. Kids had fun exploring. Parents had fun hanging out on the balcony.
We all showered, changed and headed down for our dinner.

Boma was OK. I was really looking forward to eating here but I probably wouldnt go here again. The meat was dry, the sides were never replinished with fresh. I dont know. Maybe it was the time we ate. Maybe it was the crowds grazing. :confused3 But we much enjoyed other dining choices and will stick with that. I do have to say though, when in Rome......... and that's how we saw it. We were here, why not try it out?

Day 2 ADR's at Ohana's and Chef Mickey, DD turns 13 and we are doing MK with EMH night.

How did the rest of your vacation go.
You must have hit a bad day at BOMA.
The chef came over and talked with us and asked how we enjoyed our meal.
