December 9th will be the first time going to IOA. Does anyone have any tips for me....like what to do first before the lines get long, places to eat (fast food and sit down), what rides do you get wet on, what will they be doing for Christmas and is there a map somewhere on the net that I could look at? Or websites with some pictures?
Anything else would be greatly appreciated
Thanks :D

OK First I would hit the major rides first. Hulk, Spiderman, Jurassic Park River Adventure, then Dueling Dragons.

Great places to eat..

Sitdown in the park
Mythos
The Enchanted Oak Tavern

Fastfood in the park
Burger Digs
Thunder Falls Terrace

Outside the park
Any of the places at CityWalk

You will get just a little wet on Jurassic Park River Ride (depending on where you sit)--more wet on Ripsaw Falls and Bluto's Barge ride.

Where should I sit if I don't want to get wet??? I hate walking around in wet clothes :(

We never got really wet on the ride and we sat all over it. Must have been lucky.

My biggest tip is to make reservations at the Guest Service booth on your way through CityWalk in the morning for one of the restaurants in the evening. That way you can relax, listen to music, and people watch after your day in the parks.

We found the food at Hard Rock Cafe to be very good and reasonably priced (For a theme restaurant!) I Have heard nice things about some of the other restaurants also. We are going to try the Jimmy Buffett restaurant this year.

Sitting in the middle of Jurassic Park Ride will keep you from getting wet. Just got my hair a little wet and a little splash on my top.

JPRA: sit in the 3rd thru 5th rows in the center and hope for tall people in front of you that do not know to duck.

Ripsaw Falls: sit in seat position three or four. One and two will catch some of the splashback areas as will 5 and 6. the drop is no problem it is the ride afterwards that will get you wet. Keep your head down.

Bilge rat ride: This one is a crap shoot. If you do not want to get wet, then wear a poncho like all the rest of the wimps. Keep your feet up on the center post or your shooes will fill with water. I have ridden this many times and there are times i will just have a small area of my pants wet and other tiimes my pants and everything inside were soaked :D
