We have one day to go to universal, and I'm not sure which park to choose. We have never been to either before. I have a 6yr old son and 13 yr old daughter and my husband will not be with us, so I'm trying to figure out which park would be best for both of them. I thought of park hopping , but it's only open until 7pm in Oct. Any ideas?? Thanks!

It really depends on what you're looking for. If your group likes coasters and more thrilling rides, go to IOA but if not stick with the Studios. One thing to remember...Halloween Horror Nights is staged at the Studios and on those nights, the park will close at 5pm.

Check out the website to get an idea of what each park offers and go from there.

Well collectively we like the rides that have more theme, versus just roller coasters, we have six flags in Chicago and dont need that per say, however my13 yr. old would disagree. My 6 yr old is kinda a daredevil as well. but hes only 44inches. I like alot of special effects and such that make a ride more interesting.

I suggest doing IOA for a few different reasons.

1) HHN will be going on at Studios which means the park will close roughly around 5. Also, since this event will be going on, a lot of the park will be themed to halloween and some of the props and scenes around the park may be to scary or intense for your 6 year old.

2) IOA has more themeing than Studios does. Since you mentioned you enjoy themes, IOA would be the better choice. Even if you are not a fan of Harry Potter, the themeing there will blow you away.

3) Special Effects are great at IOA. From the amazing Spiderman ride, to the Sinbad stunt show and Posideon which is a walk through special effect SHOW (lots of fire and water!).

If you do go to IOA, you may want to think about bringing a change of clothes since there are three really fun water rides that all of you can enjoy. It should still be warm enough in Oct. to ride them all.

Enjoy your trip!

Based on what you've said here, I would think IOA would be more on par with what your group is looking for. Check YouTube for ride videos and to see what attractions you can look forward to riding.
