Will be there on Friday 8/23, third week in August. Do you experts think they are necessary? I know the advice is to wait and see but I would really like to get them beforehand if needed. Just seems easier. Thanks!

There's really no way to tell you yes or no with any certainty but if you were going to buy them w/o waiting until you arrive, go ahead and buy them when you're ready. If you buy them now you won't have to pay any more if the price goes up.

Thanks! Has anyone been this time of year that can share their experience?? I'm a Universal newbie.

I was there last year (and the year before) at that time. No, I did not think the crowds were that bad at all. We love it when its hot, and I like to stay on site. My kids like to ride Spiderman way more times than I do. We also like to take a morning and do all the wet rides with little to no wait. Then, we go back to the hotel for shower and change before returning to the dry rides and shows.

We love the parks. So much, as of this past August, I am an AP holder. The AP rates on the hotels are sometimes really good. Last year, the AP rate was better than the Stay More Save More room discount. Plus, I like the small discount (10%) I get with most of the restaurants and stores in the parks and citywalk.
