Invitation Wording

As I have mentioned before, I am attempting to have a classic, based on the book, Alice in Wonderland theme for my wedding... it's not nearly as easy as I thought it would be! I'm thinking maybe I should just scrap the whole theme and start over!
I'm having trouble with the wording for the invitations and save the dates. I want it to reflect Alice in Wonderland but not cartoonish (ie- no "the Queen of Hearts requests your presence...", etc.), as it will still be a fairly formal wedding.

Help please!!!!

You could always just leave out any "Alice in Wonderland" wording and just use invites that are decorated it.. maybe a tea party at the bottom, playing cards, etc. I googled Alice in Wonderland wedding invites and Ashley Simpson (singer and lip syncer extrordinaire) had an Alice in Wonderland theme.. love or hate her she did have a pretty cool save the date:

It says: Its getting late so save teh date

and it has a keyhole with a tea party type thing on the inside..

thats an idea

I would just google all things Alice in Wonderland and see what comes up..

i found some things on the knot that were themed Alice in Wonderland too..
