I'm pretty new around here. While poking around, I find that I really like the invitations that I keep seeing. I've booked a surprise for my MIL (who is treating for this WDW trip on Christmas week!!) to go to the Biergarten for lunch and the Candelight Processional at 5:00 on Christmas Day. :santa: She will really really like this since I don't even think she knows about the show.

Mostly, I am interested in finding out exactly what you are printing these invitations on. (specific kind of paper? cardboard?) I thought maybe I'd try to make something (or ask for help later) myself, but I didn't "how" they're made once you get the design you want.

Have I missed that thread? :confused3 Help and advice much appreciated!!!

I printed my invites on paper that was a little heavier than the everyday that I use, but not card stock. That way I was able to roll it up and put a ribbon around it and I didn't use an envelope. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for that info! :thumbsup2 I never thought about rolling them! Kinda neat idea! We have some thicker paper (not quite card stock) here at work. I could grab a few sheets.

Appreciate your input!

(You're just down the road from me. :wave2: )

Thanks again.

my nieces flew in after we did. We met them at the Poly (their dad was just home from Iraq). Their plane was late so I told them that Cinderella (their favorite) had stopped by to see them and welcome them to WDW but since their plan was late they visited with MeeMom (my Mom, their great granny), my sister (their grandmom), Uncle Jim (my DH) and myself. I had made them small canvas bags with Princess DISigns on them. I rolled up their invitation to CRC (which was that night), their welcome to WDW and whatever the next morning was and gave them to them. Plus I handed their Mom (my niece/godchild/the perfect one) 5 tshirts for her and each girl. Her DH had agreed to wear two, so that's what he got.:lmao:
Anyway, the invites were rolled for the first day, their autograph book and invites were in the small canvas bags, and then they were in envelopes (left under the door by Mickey) for the rest of the week. :thumbsup2

Hi back at you. I work in Langhorne and live in NE Philly. Raised in Marcus Hook, PA & my brother and his family (including our Mom) live in Ogden. His children go to Chichester.

What a fun way to give the nieces the bags and invites!! They must have been so excited. Sounds like you had quite a crowd with you!! Wow!

I'll have to try to come up with something clever. We don't have any really little kids (youngest is my DS8) and he already knows about the dinner/show thing. It's my mom-in-law and her daughter that I'm trying to surprise. My daughter and I are going to make matching t-shirt which I KNOW my MIL will like (she likes to match and cute stuff like that) and so we have the two things to "give" as a surprise while down there. I'm SO excited.

Well, thanks for the story and suggestions. I'll "go to work" on my scheming plan now.

You know, you could always give her a tote bag and print something on there? I make a tote bag each time I go. I use it on the plane and in the parks, but I am normally in an ECV. I manage to get 1/2 dozen DISigns on the front and back. :goodvibes
Have a great, great time. :thumbsup2

Electric Cart Vehicle. I rent one for the week when I go down. I have a bad back and cannot walk for long distances. The ECV has a basket on it so I carry my bag in there. Thanks, Penny

Thanks. Always nice to learn the "lingo" around here. ha!
