Invisible fence for small dog?

Thinking of installing an invisible fence in the front yard so our dog can join us out front on occasion. Our back yard is already fenced in with a fence. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive do it yourself one for a dog 9lbs?

I have a chihuahua mix that weighs 15 lbs and he is doing great with invisible fence. We installed it at our new home two months ago and it has been fantastic.

We have one my DH installed for my little doggie...think he ordered it from Amazon.

It was really easy to install and has been working great for a couple years now.

A close friend of mine purchased the Petsafe wireless system from amazon for about $300. It works great, its portable and her dog was trained in less than a week. I think the perimeter that it sends out is 3/4 of an acre, but you can purchase additional units to increase the perimeter if needed. I am purchasing one for this summer as well =)

This place has reviews for several systems you can put in yourself. Haven't purchased from them but the reviews are nice.

I admit I know nothing about these fences and have not started any research yet. My boys want a large lab dog. Does size matter with these fences? We might would do a regular fence in the back and invisible in the front but not sure. Glad to follow this thread.

We owned a landscaping company when I was in high school and we installed apt of these fences. They worked well, but if a dog is running at something and really wants it they will run past the wire and not stop. Doesn't happen a lot but can, we had customers with all size of dogs and worked for them all. Easy to install too.
