Take away the characters and the fact Inventions is in the Disneyland Hotel... Oh and the large fish selection.... which buffet would you say was the best??

I haven't done either.... but after looking at pics of both - Plaza Gardens seems to have a more normal selection if you kwim?

Oh what-to-do... what-to-do :headache: I've booked Inventions but i'm really not sure that it's going to please everyone! Arghhh... these food decisions are really driving me nuts.

We're going with Inventions lunch. :)

Nicer setting away from the hustle of the park, better timing what with the late parade times, and it's not much more than the other buffets prices.

The food from what I've seen seems much more varied and nicer quality than the Plaza Gardens offerings.

We're doing both when we're there 3 weeks' tomorrow - not that I'm counting!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Will be sure to report back on both buffets!:goodvibes

Yeah I think it will probably be better quality too....
I think it's the kids selection i'm worrying about more so :headache:

Oh you are doing both..that's great!

Will be great if you can let me know what you think of both of them then :thumbsup2

Seen such good reviews of both; we wanted to try them both out for ourselves! Will be certain to report back and will try to take some photo's too where I can!:thumbsup2

Inventions would be our choice every time, the choice is fab and the atmosphere is lovely.

I like the Plaza Gardens, but Inventions feels a bit more special - but that's what you pay more for. ::yes::

I haven't been to Plaza Gardens but we had lunch at Inventions last year and it was lovely. The choice is pretty good for children - hams and cheeses for starters, a selection of child-friendly dishes for mains, eg breaded chicken/fish, mickey shaped potatoes, tomato meatballs, and the dessert section, well there was no problem with that for any of us....jellies, chocolate mousse, fruit, sweets to name just a few....fabulous!

We enjoyed our meal at Plaza and all left full but have decided to try inventions this time. :goodvibes

Thanks for your replies...

Think i'm just going to stick with Inventions. If I don't try it out i'll always wonder what it's like. Fingers crossed the kids will eat more than just the desserts

If they can eat their body weight in cakes and puddings, I'm sure you'll get every penny out of it too! :rotfl:
We're simply doing both. We've got a lot of food moments on our schedule and LOTS of food (always at least mains and dessert for lunch and three courses or buffet for dinner) yet it will be long days (8 AM 'til midnight or something) so I'm guessing we'll be eating more then usual. That said, my boyfriend will be happy to know I've got so much food planned, he's a real foodie and can eat his body weight in just about everything if he wants (and if I let him, which I usually don't 'cause I know I'll have to send him to the gym to work out afterwards). :rolleyes1
With all the walking and outside air, you usually tend to eat more then you do in a normal day at home. And of course, you're home cooked meal can taste as good as you want, everyone has their favorite restaurant at Disneyland with one particular dish that they'd drive the whole end for, so the fact that it's all so delicious plays a big part too. ;)

I find Inventions expensive but with all the outstanding reviews and people who've been telling me that I absolutely can't miss it, we're just gonna give it a go and see for ourselves. I think I'd regret it if we didn't try and kept wondering if it REALLY is that good. And that is something I advice to anyone: If you're doubting, just go for it! There's no better way to know what you'll think then to just give it a go!
If you don't like it or it turns out you don't find it worth the cost, then at least you know this for the next trip and you don't have to keep wondering.

I agree - it does seem really expensive that's why I was concerned with booking here with the kids. My kids don't eat much at the best of times and two are very picky...so there is no way they'll eat anywhere near their monies worth.

I guess when there is only a couple of you it isnt as bad but we'll be paying for 6 of us - 3 adults and 3 kids - so it'll work out pretty expensive. I think i'll be the only one getting my monies worth out of all of us... i'll be leaving feeling sick!

I have read on a review you can ask for chips for the kids and they'll make you some up...anyone know if this is the case?? Also... i've read that the buffet has pizza but can't seem to see any pics of it. Do they serve pizza??
